LEGEND OF DRIZZT BONUS ADVENTURE

Coven of the Dragons

Objective: Find and Defeat the Ancient Red Dragon threatening the

Number of Heroes: 3 to 5 (group Adventure)

Suggested Heroes: Drizzt, Bruenor, Wulfgar, Cattie-Brie, Artemis

Tips: This adventure is intended for Level 5-10 characters during


Campaign Play, as it is very difficult. If you choose to not play the
Campaign, and play it as a normal scenario, it is suggested to start all
characters at Level 2. If so, add 2 extra Healing Surges. If not enough
players are present, the players may control multiple characters, so up
to 5 Heroes are present in the scenario. A Level-Up Character Guide is
provided on the last page.

Adventure Setup:
Special Components in this Adventure: Start Tile, Dark Chasm Tile, Rocky Lair Tile,
Shimmergloom Villain Card and figure, Ashardalon Dragon figure (if available) and Ashardalon
Villain Card (included), Ancient Red Dragon Villain Card (included), the two troll figures and troll

monster cards. You can choose 2 extra dragon miniatures if available for the Red Dragons, but
will be suitable for the first two
dragon encounters. You may use whatever you have available for the third encounter.

Place the Start Tile on the table. Place each Hero on the Start Tile. Place Shimmergloom on the
Start Tile.

Take the Dark Chasm Tile from the Cavern Tile Stack and set it aside. Shuffle the rest of the
Cavern Tile Stack. Take 4 tiles from it, and Shuffle the Dark Chasm Tile into those tiles. Then
without looking at any of the tiles, put the shuffled Dark Chasm Tile and 4 other shuffled tiles
into the Cavern Tile stack after the 10 th tile. (This way the Dark Chasm tile will appear between
the 11th and 15th tile drawn.)

Starting Awards:
4 Healing Surges, and each Hero draws one 1 item card from the Treasure Deck.

Special Adventure Rules:


- At the starts of the game when you encounter Shimmergloom, remember as a villain, he
.

- When the 6 tile is drawn, grab the two troll cards and figures. Place both trolls directly
adjacent in squares next to the square of the closest Hero. The trolls act as villains, so as
such, activate at the start of each player s villain phase. You draw no more monsters
until your heroes reach the 7 th tile. Once the 7th tile is drawn, monsters are re-activated
for every turn and player, no matter what tile they are on.
- When the Dark Chasm tile is Drawn, place the Rocky Lair tile next to the closest
unexplored edge of the Dark Chasm tile.
- Instead of drawing a Monster Card for the tile, the active player takes the Ashardalon
card and places the figure on the Large Stone depicted on the Rocky Lair tile. As a
villain, Ashardalon .
- When you have reduced Ashardalon to half his HP, he flies into the air and lands behind
your furthest character. If there is not enough space, adjust the heroes accordingly for
Ashardalon to fit.

- After you have placed Ashardalon, take the Ancient Red Dragon villain card and place
the Ancient Red Dragon figure on the large stone depicted on the Rocky Lair tile.

Victory: The Heroes win the adventure when they defeat both Ashardalon and the Ancient Red
Dragon.

Defeat: The Heroes lose this adventure, if any Hero has 0 Hit Points at the start of his or her
turn and there are no Healing Surge tokens remaining.

Alternate Defeat: Since this is a difficult adventure, if players are using Level 1-2 Heroes, they
may choose to keep fighting until all Heroes have been killed.

When You Start The Adventure, Read:

As you and your companions are enchanted by the beautiful ghostly song of the spirit of an
elf woman, your meals arrive. You dig into plates full of tender roasted chicken, beef stew,
warm bread, and goblets full of mead and beer.

You, however, notice a tense atmosphere, and seeming tension and unrest amongst the
patrons of the tavern. As you think about it, the guards at the entrance to the city seemed
more alert as well.

You and your companions approach a tough looking older man and inquire about what you
have observed. The older man, who introduces himself as Galven, proceeds to tell you a
disturbing rumor.

Sharp Teeth, a coven of dragons has appeared quite suddenly. They have attacked
neighboring villages and destroyed much property and livestock.

You thank Galven for the information, and you and your companions order a room and settle
down for the night.

willingness to help with the current situation.

He hires you and offers extremely large rewards if you are able to complete the task. You
and your party eagerly accept, and set out immediately.

After a few days journey, you and your companions arrive at the cave in the Wood of Sharp
Teeth. As you enter the cave your party immediately comes face to face with a black dragon!

When You Draw the 6th Tile, Read:


Exhausted, but determined your party continues through the cave. You hear a fierce bellow
and two massive trolls raising humongous clubs over their heads, bull rush into the midst of
your party!

When You Reveal the Dark Chasm Tile, Read:


Considering turning back, you and you fellow heroes keep your resolve, and continue to
march on. Eventually you come to a dark chasm that seems to go many miles deep into the
earth. An old, but sturdy wooden bridge connects from your location to a huge rock lair at
the other side of the chasm. As you and your companions prepare to cross the bridge, a loud
roar echoes against the walls of the cave. A massive red dragon lands on a large stone in the
middle of the lair. He stares at you with murder in his eyes and attacks!

When You Have Reduced The Red Dragon To Half His


Hit Points, Read:
The red dragon is tough, but you and your party land blow after blow upon him. He is greatly
weakened, and you feel victory at hand. Right at that moment, an ear-splitting roar, louder

than anything you have ever heard slams its way through the cave. An almost unbelievably
large red dragon lands on the large stone of the Rocky Lair. In shock you and your
companions stare at this monstrosity. The smaller red dragon you have been fighting takes
this moment to his advantage. He flies over your heads and lands behind your party. You are
surrounded!

When You Have Won, Read:


You land the final blow on the Ancient Red Dragon. His head crashes into the ground, never
to rise again. You search the Rocky Lair and find an immense treasure horde. You take as
Lord Falkirk meets with you the next day
and holds a parade in your honor. The reward he bestows upon you is truly massive, and
gives each and every one of you a mansion of your own in the city. With the reward and the
treasure you have retrieved from the dragon, you consider a life of retirement in the
beautiful city. For generations and generations, you will be praised as some of the greatest
