2. As a student nurse, to whom are you expected to report the abnormal finding/s? Justify.

As a student-nurse in-charge, you were placed at the ER by your clinical instructor to


have an experience in a hospital setting. During the duty, if you find to gather abnormal
findings, you can report it to the staff nurses or to your clinical instructor to ensure the
data gathered before administering any action. But mainly, you can be guided by the staff
nurses at the ER because they are the professionals that are in-charge at the ER with you.
Student nurses can possibly commit mistakes as they are performing duties as practices,
but any negligence that student nurses may have are responsibilities of the clinical
instructors. It is better to have guidance from higher authorities to make certain about the
abnormal findings. Because in a hospital setting, if you are unsure about what you are
doing, it is better to terminate the action before causing any harm to the patients.
