Introductory Message
Welcome to Mathematics 10!
The Mathematics 10 Learning Activity Sheet will help you facilitate the
teaching-learning activities specified in each Most Essential Learning Competency
(MELC) with minimal or no face-to-face encounter between you and learner. This
will be made available to the learners with the references/links to ease the
independent learning.

Quarter 2, Week 4
Theorems are true statements that can be proven. To prove theorem, you
must construct a deduction, with no premises, such that its last line contains the
theorem or formula. In this activity sheet, you will learn to prove the theorems
related to some parts of the circle such as the chords, arcs, central angles, and
inscribed angles to enhance your understanding and through this, you can make a
valuable application in your life.

IV. Activity Proper
Activity 1
A. Read and understand the proof of the following theorems listed below in your
Mathematics 10 Learner’s Module on pages indicated in the table.
THEOREMS RELATED TO
CHORDS, ARCS, CENTRAL ANGLES, AND INSCRIBED ANGLES
Topic List of Theorems Pages
Central In a circle or in congruent circle, two minor arcs are 142 - 143
Angles, Arcs, congruent if and only if their corresponding central
and chords angles are congruent.
In a circle or in congruent circles, two minor arcs are 144 - 148
congruent if and only if their corresponding chords are
congruent.
Inscribed If an angle is inscribed in a circle, then the measure of 165
Angles the angle equals one-half the measure of its
intercepted arc (or the measure of the intercepted arc
is twice the measure of the inscribed angle).
In a circle, two inscribed angles with the same 166
intercepted arc are congruent.
B. Answer the following activities in your Mathematics 10 Learner’s Module.
Write your answers in your Activity Notebook.
