MODULE 6

FORMS OF FICTION

Activity 3: Reflection

I have realized that Mathilda and her jealousy cause her to waste ten years of her life
over something superficial I feel pity and angry to her at the same time for being blind at
what she already had. People need to remember what their life’s purpose is on this earth
and realize that God put us in that situation for a reason. If I were Mathilda, I would be
content on what I have. I have a loving and caring husband who loves me and basic needs
to survive. Even though I’m not rich. I’m not certainly poor. And as long as you are being
true to yourself you will always find happiness.

The story teaches me to be proud for who I am even though I was born into a poor family.
And we struggle financially. My parents are able to give all my basic needs. The story also
teaches me to live life to the fullest and don’t waste time on materialistic things. Because
you never know how life can be happy with just the people that surrounds you.
