Information
• To be able to make full use of the services in SDP3, you must
have a Certificate for services installed on your computer. For
more information about the certificate, see TIL > Scania Diagnos
& Programmer > Other information > Certificate for services in
SDP3.
• Demo files recorded by an SDP3 version older than the one you
are using may have limited options for displaying parameters.

2.46.3

New general features

No major new general features in the issue.

New system-specific features

Component E1005 voltage converter

Component E1005 voltage converter is a new component for all trucks in
L, P, G, R and S series, where the customer has selected a voltage
converter (24 V-12 V, 30 A) instead of an equaliser.
The component is located under Electrical system > CMS.

New parameter for gas vehicles

A new parameter has been created for gas vehicles in the engine management system
(EMS), dynamic idling. The parameter enables activation or deactivation of dynamic idling.
The parameter can be found under Electrical system > Engine system >
EMO2 > Adjustment.

New wizard for field test of troubleshooting tool

There is a new wizard for EEC3 and AMS1. The wizard has been
introduced for field testing of troubleshooting tool 2907923. The tool
should facilitate troubleshooting of the liquid part of the SCR system and
has been developed in FQ328198. The test can be used to control the
pump and pressurise the SCR system.
The wizard can be found under Functions > Check > Powertrain >
Emission control > SCR system.
Please read through the instructions even if you have not received any
tool and provide any feedback in FQ328198.
New tab in SDP3
A new tab has been created in SDP3. This tab is empty at the moment, but it will be filled in
the spring of 2021. The purpose of future content in the tab is to clarify which updates are
necessary when the text Check and perform software updates appears in connection with
maintenance.
The tab can be found under Product update > Bundled.
The tab is available to all users of SDP3 in all applications, but there is no great need to use
this in industry and the marine sector.

Corrections

Component C14, update of information

Component C14 harness-to-harness connector for all trucks in L, P, G,
R and S series has updated text and illustrations.
The component can be found under electrical system: DCS1/ ICL3, INL2
and ALM1.

2.46.2

New general features

No major new general features in the issue.

New system-specific features

New parameter for light check deactivation

Light check deactivation is a new parameter created for all trucks in the L, P, G, R and S
series (2016-). The parameter makes it possible to switch off the option using the light check
button on the key's remote control. The parameter has been created because light check
deactivation is a legal requirement in Japan.
The parameter can be found under Electrical system > Visibility system
> CUV3 > Adjustment and Functions > Adjustment > Visibility > Lighting
> Light check.
When updating the CUV control unit software, the new parameter can be
used.

System-specific changes
L, P, G, R and S series (2016-).

2.46.1

New general features

No major new general features in the issue.
New system-specific features

New user function warns of open door

The cab door open warning is a new user function for all trucks in the P,
G, R and T series.
The UF1157 user function warns if any of the cab doors are open. This
is because there is a potential safety risk to people inside and outside
the vehicle if a cab door is open.
The new function can be found under User functions > Driver warning >
UF1157 Cab door open warning.
Systems affected by the new function are ICL3, COO8 and DCS1.

New parameter for gas vehicles

A new parameter has been created for gas vehicles, Over-acceleration
protection bypass.
The parameter can be found under Electrical system > Engine
management system > EMO2 > adjustment.
The new parameter applies to vehicles with power take-offs and has
self-regulating software.

System-specific changes

Revised text in installation test

Changes to the menu option text in the installation test have been
introduced in the function wizard Installation test for industrial engines.
Systems affected are EMS/EME1. More specifically, this applies to
StageV industrial engines.
The menu option Excessive nitrogen oxide levels in the exhaust gases
has been renamed and is now called: Emission-related faults (MIL). The
change has been introduced to make the text more consistent with the
text in the installation manual.

SDP3 certificate
Handling of SDP3 certificates will change from 1 November. In
connection with this, the certificate needs to be reinstalled. For this
reason, a new version (v14) of the document Certificate for services in
SDP3 is available for download from Scania Technical Information
Library.
The change applies to all use of services in SDP3.

Addition to information about compression tests

An addition has been made to the information about the requirements
that must be satisfied in order to run the compression test on Scania
Engines engines with S8 and EME1, included in the EMS system.
The text that has been added is CAN communication between starter
motor and engine control unit must be active.

Facilitated troubleshooting of the charge air

pressure system
Five signals have been added to the signal list for OCS1. The signals
are under Signal logging, OCS1.
The signals have been added to facilitate troubleshooting of the charge
air pressure system.
The signals that have been added are:
• Adaptive correction of charge air pressure 0-1,200 rpm
• Adaptive correction of charge air pressure 1,200-1,400 rpm
• Adaptive correction of charge air pressure 1,400-1,600 rpm
• Adaptive correction of charge air pressure 1,600-1,800 rpm
• Adaptive correction of charge air pressure, over 1,800 rpm
The affected products are trucks and buses that run on gas, both NGS
and NCG.

2.45.3

New general features

No new major general or system-specific features in the issue. New
system-specific features

Engine management system

A new parameter for override control of the Over-acceleration protection
bypass has been introduced. This parameter should be active during
normal operation, but it can be deactivated. The parameter is for
vehicles driven under extreme conditions.
A number of previously removed fault code texts concerning the exhaust
gas temperature sensor have been reintroduced.
