5.2 Warming up
It is necessary to warm up the machine after it has been stopped for hours, especially over
night. Please ensure to let the machine running free for at least 30-45 minutes before you
do accurate cutting.

5.2.1 Warming up
Load free operation more than 30 minutes (longer in the winter)
Check spindle rotation and orientation function
Check tool change function
Check lubrication and coolant device function
Make sure all these are working properly.

Portable Manual Pulse Generator (option) :


An Portable Manual Pulse Generator (portable electric handwheel) can be fit on machine as an
optional accessory. When machine has both fixed and portable handwheel simultaneously:

On the Operation Panel “MPG” Push “MPG MODE” : Portable handwheel works.
Push “MPG MODE” AGAIN : Fixed handhweel works.

5.5 BAR FEEDER

5.5.1 PLC PARAMETER

P20 : Normal and new bar X obstruction position


P21 : Normal bar Z obstruction position
P22 : obstruct bar tool number
P23 : new bar Z obstruct position
P24 : cutting tool no. for new bar
P25 : new bar facing cut by user program or default setting (by user parameter P1011)

5.5.2 Operation procedure

1, Define obstruct tool number into P22 of PLC parameter


2, Define X and Z axis obstruction “machine coordinate“ into P20 and P21 of PLC

(Set P20 and P21 as zero, you can change the obstruction position in 666 sub
program without restarting CNC)
3, Define new bar Z axis obstruction “machine coordinate” into P23 of PLC
parameter,( this parameter is special for when you want to machining face of new
bar, if is not necessary, please set it same as P21
(While you don’t use P20 and P21 setting, please define new bar obstruction
position in 666 sub program, too)
4, Install first bar by bar feeder manual mode,
5, Execute M90 to start bar feeder

5.5.3 End of bar

When bar feeder end of bar signal active, you can see a message “ END OF
BAR “ appear on upon left of screen, when you execute same M code ( M90 ), X
axis will go to “ zero machine coordinate “, then bar feeder will eject remaining
bar, then X and Z axes go to new bar obstruction position, then bar feeder feed a
new bar automatic

5.5.4 Facing cut for new bar

1, Set P25= 0, the facing cut will be performed by user program


Set P25= 1, the facing cut will be performed by internal sub program
2, If don’t use P20 and P21 setting please filled the coordinate in 666 sub program
(sub 114).
If use P20 and P21 setting please set bar diameter(in machine coordinate) in user
parameter P1011.

5.6 PROBE ( have a real example behind description)

Before use probe function, please refer follows procedure to


set up reference tool ( tool 1 )

5.6.1 Probe calibration


1.- Calibrate a tool
We are going to calibrate a tool to get the exact position of the probe. You must take a part
of known dimensions and calibrate the tool without using the probe.
2.- Calibrate the probe with (PROBE2,B,F) using the tool calibrated before.
When the probing operation will be executed, we will get on the parameters P298 and P299
the position of the touched sides of the probe. You must take these values and write them in
the dimensions of the general machine parameter. For example, if we have a probe of
40mm length.
PRBXMIN (P40) = P298 - 40 mm
PRBXMAX (P41) = P298
PRBZMIN (P44) = P299 - 40 mm
PRBZMAX (P45) = P299
After modifying the parameters SHIFT+RESET must be executed to validate the
parameters.

5.6.2 Tool calibration


Before using the probing cycles to calibrate the tools, you must give an approximate value
to the tool offsets variables. The CNC needs to know the approximate size of the tools to
avoid collisions before the probing cycles.
In the next two pages you will find a subroutine for the tool calibration using the probe. For
this subroutine, the tool number 1 has been used as reference tool to calibrate the probe. As
the probe position has been given regarding to the tool number 1, when we will try to
calibrate the rest of the tools, we must compare the size of the selected tool with the size of
the tool number 1. We need to compare both sizes to touch exactly in the middle of the side
of the probe.

5.6.3 PROBE REAL EXAMPLE

5. Restart controller

7. Machine will execute probe automatic
