2. What should we write in the background of the study and the reasons for choosing the

topic?

The background of the study

In the background of the subject, a discipline and sub-discipline are presented which is

a forum for the topics studied in research. This background should be directly related to the

topic so that readers (in this case the supervisor and examiner of scientific papers) can easily

and quickly understand the author's wishes in making their arguments. For example, the

following topic is referred to as Sociopragmatics, because this branch of linguistics

discusses various aspects related to the use of language in the social context between speech

participants including aspects of politeness. want to be researched. The material can be

obtained from research journals (scientific journal articles), research reports, and/or direct or

indirect interviews with experts who carry out related research. This study will be deepened

in a chapter devoted to literature review.

The reasons for choosing the topic

Reasons for selecting topics are filled with academic reasons why a topic is selected in

the research design. For example, a topic will reveal a phenomenon that is unique to a time;

the topic of meaningful donations in the development of science; the topic of mastering

complex problems that exist in a society; the topic has not yet been reviewed by people; the

topic will close the information between existing knowledge, shown in previous research

studies, and the prospect of developing that knowledge with new findings. This section can

be filled in with practical reasons such as a community whose alarm warning alarm appears

in their environment.
