EWU Strengths:
 East west University of Bangladesh is very popular to students
 Costs are affordable compare to others ( Brac, NSU)
 Location in dhaka city
 The optimum size of each class is 40 students only
 Full-time faculty teach most classes, and there is a strong bond and a high level of interaction
between faculty and students
 Expertise in teaching non-traditional students
 Accessibility-day, night formats
 Interdisciplinary and experiential education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
 Faculty service to the university and the larger community.
 Efficient management

EWU Weaknesses:

 Underfunding in many departments and programs


 Small campus compare to the numbers of students
 Lack of financial support for poor students
 Insufficient book in library and most of them are out dated
 Lack of understanding at many facts Inadequate resources for recruitment, retention, advising,
and marketing - all the things needed to recruit and retain students
 Lack of infrastructure - including physical, financial, and human resources; inadequate capital
funds to support all that we want to do
 Underdeveloped campus life and facilities
EWU Opportunities:
 Full scholarship for the students who are needed
 Continuing education for intellectual enrichment and for students of all section
 Online result and information opportunities
 Outdoor campus facility
 Unlike public university who are suffering from session jot, these are not seen in EWU
 More conversations and partnerships with local employers - those in the private, nonprofit, and
public sectors - so that students are more appealing to them
 Educational opportunities related to Science, Arts and Commerce
 International and off-campus study and exchange programs
 Tuition fees is affordable for students

Threats to EWU:
 Threats created by poor performing students
 Risk of losing prominent faculty and staff for genuinely better opportunities at other universities
or locally
 Smaller campus compare to other new campus of established universities
 Growing competition from nearby public universities and small privates in central Dhaka
 Establishment of new private university
