07 Self- Evaluation

I mentioned that Jade Congs were found in the tombs of people in Ancient China, but I could have added
that they appeared in burials of high-ranking people, not just everyone. I said that the congs “can be
inferred that they had some sort of ritualistic purpose” because of how many were found in the tombs
and I also added that it “can be inferred that the Chinese had a certain respect for their dead,” because
of how hard jade is the carve and how much it was valued. I also explained the half man half beast deity
shown on the Congs, but I might have made it clearer by mentioning the exact placement of the
decorations, on the corners. I did not see anything about the jade congs representing virtues, like it says
on the rubric, so I did not include them in my answer.

I would grade myself around a 4 or a 4.5, since I was missing a few details, but I feel like I did mention
most of the key points.
