Biography

FRANCIS ALBERT SINATRA was born on december 12, 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey, in
a middle class neighborhood. Son of Italian immigrants, he was the only son of the Sinatra
marriage.

He was fond of boxing since he was a child, and at nignt he helped his father in the family-
owned tavern, which related him to the world of music since he was 10 years old. He was a
recognized athlete, had his time as a gang member and practiced various trades, from truck
driver to sports chronicler.

In 1932 he married Nancy Barbato, with whom he attended the last concert given by Bing
Crosby, one of his great idols.

He died in Los Angeles on the night of May 14, 1998, of a heart attack at the prestigioud
Cedar Sinai hospital, at 82 years of age and in the Company of his chikdren and his last wife.
