PRACTICE CASE STUDY:

Motor Driven Fire Pump had failed many times in the past years incurring a repair cost of more than
Php10M based on the CMMS record. Recurring failure was due to frequent replacement of motor
outboard bearing, pump packing seal and impeller. Fire protection system was out of service for a week
every time the pump failed. Find the root cause of the problem and develop corrective action to ensure
reliability of the motor driven fire pump.
