Umm Qasr, Iraq

• The Port of Umm Qasr is the main port and located on


Iraq’s Arabian Gulf coast. In recent years Umm Qasr
has regained its status as the main gateway for Iraq at
the expense of Aqaba in Jordan as well as the ports in
Kuwait.

• In 2014, ICTSI signed a concession with the Ports I R A Q

Authority of Iraq to build and operate a new Baghdad


dedicated container terminal in the northern part of
the port of Umm Qasr. The concession included a
number of older berths for both container and

24 January – ICTSI’s USD400 million fixed-for-life perpetual securities issued in January 2018
is named ‘Best Corporate Bond’ in the Philippines during The Asset Country Awards 2018. The
transaction “allowed ICTSI to bolster its capital management strategy by extending its funding
profile to match its long-term port concessions.”

29 January – Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT) is recognized as having the


Best in HR Practices in Pakistan during the International Human Resource Awards 2019 in
Karachi.

30 January – ICTSI’s Public Relations Program for its Papua New Guinea Host Communities
is awarded a Gold Anvil at the 54th Philippine Anvil Awards. The program was cited for
successfully jumpstarting long-term partnerships with ICTSI’s PNG host communities and
establishing the brand, while addressing issues and needs through non-stop communication
with stakeholders.

January – ICTSI and subsidiary, Subic Bay International Terminal Corp. (SBITC) are
honored with the “Service Business of the Year for Logistics” award during the 2018 Mabuhay
Awards of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) for “serving the growing economy of
the northern regions of the Philippines through world-class container handling services at the
Subic Bay Freeport.”

16 February – Enrique K. Razon Jr., ICTSI Chairman and President, is conferred with the
degree Doctor of Science in Logistics, honoris causa from the De La Salle University, Manila
for his leadership and excellence in the logistics industry.

26 February – The Philippine Sportswriters Association, the Philippines’ oldest media


organization, picks Enrique K. Razon Jr., ICTSI Chairman and President, as its 2018
Executive of the Year. Mr. Razon has been a long-time patron of Philippine golf in the country
by way of the Philippine Golf Tour (PGT), backed by sports management company, Pilipinas
Golf Tournaments Inc. (PGTI), where he is Chairman. Mr. Razon likewise extends help to the
country’s amateur golf development through the ICTSI-The Country Club program supported
by the ICTSI Foundation.

March – Contecon Manzanillo S.A. de C.V. (CMSA) in Colima, Mexico and Operadora
Portuaria Centroamericana (OPC) in Cortes, Honduras are certified internationally with the
seal of “fair logistics” by Texas-based World Organization of Cities and Logistics Platforms
(OMCPL - Organizacion Mundial de Cuiadades y Plataformas Logisticas), after a rigorous
review of logistics services being offered to stakeholders.

26 March – ICTSI South Pacific, ICTSI’s subsidiary in Papua New Guinea, is honored at
the Navis Inspire Awards 2019 with an Award of Excellence for Learning and Development.
Navis took note of ICTSI South Pacific’s accomplishment as a “first” for Papua New
Guinea, with the implementation of two modern operating terminals running on N4 (SPICT
and MIT): “This was a transformative initiative for the nation with modern import/export
containerized logistics being a gateway for further national economic development.”

April – PICT earns its fourth consecutive Corporate Excellence Award at the Management
Association of Pakistan’s 34th Corporate Excellence Awards in Karachi.

July – The Organization of American States (OAS) awards the Puerto Aguadulce-
COMPAS Foundation with the 2018 Maritime Award of the Americas in Social
Responsibility for Sociedad Puerto Industrial de Aguadulce’s (SPIA) landmark initiative to
uplift Colombians out of poverty. Through its Emprendepaz program, SPIA supports local
entrepreneurs and start-ups within the port’s hinterland communities in the Aguadulce
Peninsula including three Black Community Committees (CCCN, in Spanish): Bajo Calima,
Citronela and Córdoba-San Cipriano.

August – ICTSI’s maiden Sustainability Report for 2017 is ranked by Bloomberg as top 7
in the Philippines on ESG reporting.

August – Operadora Portuaria Centroamericana (OPC) is recognized as one of the most

Central America-based recruitment portal Tecoloco.com.

August – PICT becomes the first container terminal in the country to obtain the ISO
45001:2018 certification, the world’s first integrated international standard for
occupational health and safety.

30 August – The International Association of Business Communicators – Philippines


gives ICTSI an Award of Excellence for its inaugural Sustainability Report for 2017, and
an Award of Recognition for its innovative Public-Private-People Partnership with host
communities in Papua New Guinea.

7 September – Matadi Gateway Terminal (MGT) is awarded the Prix de Reconnaissance


aux Investisseurs (Investor Recognition Award) by DR Congo’s Agence Nationale Pour La
Promotion des Investissements (National Agency for Investment Promotion), which
recognizes outstanding investments that have greatly contributed to the country’s economic
growth, in line with the country’s Investment Code.

17 September - Alpha Southeast Asia recognizes ICTSI as one of the best managed
companies in the Philippines – clinching five awards in the 9th Annual Institutional Investor
Awards. ICTSI led publicly-listed companies in the country for having the Strongest
Adherence to Corporate Governance and Most Organized Investor Relations Company;
whilst second best in having the Best Senior Management IR Support and Most Consistent
Dividend Policy. Rafael D. Consing Jr., ICTSI Senior Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer, meanwhile, is named Southeast Asia’s and the Philippines’ Best CFO.

21 September - For the fourth straight year, OPC is awarded the Seal of Socially
Responsible Business by the Honduran Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility.
OPC was cited for demonstrating good management in responsible practices for the benefit
