Sunrise Leadership Camp

The Interact Club of SMK Pinang recently organized a leadership camp. The camp was
held at Selasih Resort, Kota Damansara from 25 to 27 May 2020.

A total of 80 participants attended the camp. They consisted of presidents and

secretaries of the various clubs and societies in school. The camp was targeted at students aged
16-17 years old. They were accompanied by 4 teachers. The camp activities were handled by
several youth leaders from a few local universities. 27 This is so that they are able to carry
out their duties in their respective clubs more effectively.

All participants had gathered at the school hall at 10am. 28 Upon arriving at the
camp site, the participants were given a briefing by the facilitators. They were then put into
groups and asked to set up tents. Most of them had accomplished this task successfully by 7pm.

Then, it was dinnertime. After dinner, the participants had their first group activity. 29
Some of the groups came up with very creative names and chants. After the activity, it
was time for bed.

30 It involved aerobics and jogging around the campsite. After breakfast, they had
to display their survival skills. Later in the afternoon, they went canoeing in the nearby lake.
At night, the participants attended a talk. 31 It was given by a professor of
Communications from a local university.

There was only one activity on the third day of the camp, which was the feedback
