Energy Balanced Series

Security DBS has developed a unique range of roller cone
bits to reduce your drilling costs. By using a scientific
approach to design, a more aggressive cutting structure can
be created, without sacrificing durability. Security DBS’ new
Energy Balanced™ Series promotes improved ROP, longer
bit life, and reduces vibration levels that can cause damage to
other drill string components.

rates and to minimize damage to cutting structure.

It’s All About Balance

As a result of unique software developed by
Security DBS, it’s now possible to design dynamically
balanced roller cone bits.
The computer drilling simulator models bit balance
condition, enabling bits to be designed to a near
balanced state.

ENERGY BALANCED SERIES – INSERT The smoother drilling action means longer seal/bearing
life, less damage to bit cutting structure and other vibra-
tion sensitive drill string components such as MWD’s,
Security DBS reducing the risk of having to make unnecessary trips.
Optimally Positioned and Orientated Teeth
Cutter orientation is a key feature for most Energy Balanced Series designs. The Security DBS computer drilling simulator
models down-hole dynamics and kinetic forces acting on the bit cutting elements. It calculates the direction of the scraping
action on bottom, promoted through cone contour and bit offset. By orientating insert crests perpendicular to the direction
of the scraping motion, a greater volume of formation is removed, ROP will increase, and the risk of tooth breakage or insert
loss is reduced.
