4. Derive Equilibrium & Compatibility equations for a body in Polar co-ordinate system. (12M)

5. Plot the variation of stress distribution in a plate of infinite dimensions with a circular hole
under uni-aixal uniform tension. (12M)

6. Explain the different methods of solving three-dimensional elasticity problems. (12M)

7. Derive shear stress, torsional rigidity, displacement components for elliptical cross-section
bar. (12M)

8. What is Prandtl’s membrane analogy? By Membrane analogy calculate the Torsion in


Rectangular bar and also obtain the shear stresses. (12M)
