REQUISITE DOCUMENTS FOR STUDY VISA – LONG TERM (D)


MANDATORY DOCUMENTS: Please show original documents at the time of submission of
application. Kindly be informed that students whose admission is subject to an entrance test at the
University in Italy will need to apply for a Long Term (D) Visa. However, students who are supposed
to take an entrance test before their final study certificate is issued will apply for a Short Term (C)
Visa.
1. Application form (D) fully completed and signed by applicant
2. One recent passport-size photographs (white background). Please do not staple the photographs to the
application form
3. Passport/Travel Document must:
a) Have been issued within the previous 10 years, and the validity must not exceed 10 yrs.
b) At least have a validity of 3 months after the intended stay.
c) Have at least 2 blank pages.
4. One set photocopy of applicant’s Passport pages with previous Schengen, UK & USA Visas
5. Personal Covering Letter
6. - Confirmation receipt of enrolment from the official web portal Universitaly, OR
- Original letter of admission from Institute in Italy,
- DOV for non-University courses , courses not requiring pre-enrolment, or if required.
7. Education Certificate duly attested by the competent department of the State Government and Apostilled
by the Ministry of External Affairs.
8. Receipt of full payment of Tuition fees (if required)

9. Documents proving applicant's source of income (If financially supported by one or both parents as
sponsors, the applicant is required to provide sponsorship letter and sponsor’s ID proof, evidence of sponsor's
employment/business activity, sponsor’s ITR-V forms and bank account statements)
10. Documentation regarding the applicant’s financial means for the period of stay in Italy
1.- University Courses or Post-graduate Courses:
Proof of means of support in Italy of not less than Euro 460.28 for each month (Euro 5983.64 per year) of the
academic year. This availability can be proven through bank Statement of applicant or his/her parents.

2. - Scholarship from Italian Government: Proof of scholarship in original.


Where the amount of the scholarship does not satisfy the minimum amount established by law, the
availability of remaining balance can be proven through bank Statement of applicant or his/her parents.

3.- Non-University courses:


Adequate financial availability covering the expenses for the whole duration of stay in Italy and adequate
means for repatriation OR return flight ticket.

11. Adequate proof of Boarding and Lodging in Italy.

12. One way air ticket.


13. Medical Insurance Policy for medical treatment and/or hospitalization (required at least until the Italian
University provides the student with one or until access to the Italian National Healthcare System is granted).
NOTE: This Consulate reserves the right to ask for Personal interview and Additional Documents
