Mock interview

As a requirement in the subject Work Immersion, we were required to take part in the
mock interview. The mock interview is not an official interview from the cooperating industry
that we worked for rather, it is a trial in order for the students to experience what interviews are
like. It has the purpose of training the students to further gain experience and learn from it.

My mock interview happened the day after my birthday. I was still tired from my
celebration but the next day is where the mock interview is scheduled for us. As the president of
the class, I contacted our work immersion adviser for the schedule of the interview.
Unexpectedly, I was part of the first batch of interviewees. Honestly, I was not yet prepared and
crammed to establish myself well enough to be prepared. Things were quite challenging as I
simultaneously calmed myself down as well as guided my classmates. I was the third
interviewee, which was arranged alphabetically. During my interview, I was confident when i
entered and I had the momentum to make it successful but online classes would never be
complete without the disruption of technical difficulties. It was unexpected that i had slow
internet connection in the area where i was but I guess every Internet connection also has its own
limit especially during that time. I panicked quite a bit when I seemed to have had a slow internet
connection in the middle of answering the first question resulting in a distorted communication
with my interviewer. Also because of the Internet connection, I wasn’t able to present my
resume. Gladly, i think my connection went back but i know my momentum was kinda ruined.
Still, I calmed myself down and tried my very best to answer all the questions thrown at me with
utter respect, honesty and all knowledge and beliefs that I have. I believe that I did well on my
own despite technical difficulties and also the interviewer was considerate enough. Still, I also
believe that I could have done so much better. It was a mock interview of my first job as a
Veterinarian which was a dream of mine.

The mock interview was one of the moments where students were nervous but i was glad
to have this kind of experience. I will remember that moment and will learn from it so that when
the real thing happens, i will be proud of myself for applying what i have learned from this
experience. Lastly, I also want to thank the interviewer for facilitating and being considerate
enough when I had technical difficulties.
