The document is based on the valid NTD, restricting lists of materials application and standards. The engine’s pneudralic schematic is shown in the JSM-YZH-CD-011-08 Concep- tual Design. - : 2 MATERIALS This section presents main characteristics of materials, from which the engine’s parts of flight configuration are to be manufactured on results of design elaboration (see Table 1). The materials to be used were put through development in other YZH products of similar destination and are suitable for application in the Jasmine engine. The List of Materials is divided into the following groups: 01 —Aluminum and aluminum alloys 02 — Titanium and titanium alloys. . 03 ~ Stainless steels 04 — Steels 05 — Nickel and its alloys 06 — Cooper and its alloys 07 — Metal fillers 10 — Paints, coatings, varnishes, inks 11 — Lubricants 15 — Rubber 16 — Wires and cables 17— Miscellaneous non-metallic materials The Table 1 consists of 7 columns filled in accordance with the following: Column 1. Identification number of material. The first 2 figures are material’s group, 3 following ones are material’s group type and the last 2 figures identify material’s coating type. Codes of coating are as follows: 00 — Without coating 01 —An.Ox.Chr, An.Ox.fw 02—Chr.H 03-Cd 04 -—Cd.Chr 05 — Zn.Chr 06 — Chem.Ni 07 —Chem.Pas 09 — Chem.Ox.Chr 11 - Silvering 12 —Nitration 15 ~ Coppering 16 — Gilding 17 Miscellaneous coatings Column 2. Material identification number in accordance with the valid NTD. Column 3. Material chemical composition and blanks type to be used for parts manufacturing. Column 4. Coatings, which are applied onto the part from the material. Column 5. Unit, which uses the material, and code of unit with allowance for PHS “LRE” means that it is material for parts, which are used during general engine assembly, or for manufacturing most of the parts. Column 6. Codes of environment, in which material operates. Percentage of chemical elements is presented in following tables 2.1 - aluminum alloys 2.2 - titanium alloys 233 — copper alloys 2.4 — nickel alloys 2.5 — steels and alloys. The materials chemical composition is derived from reference data and NTD. Table 3 presents reference data on physical properties of materials exposed in the engine to high/low temperature, which are used in the engine’s thermal analysis Table 4 presents reference data on mechanical properties of materials exposed in the engine to loading, which are used for the engine’s structural analysis. The values are given for temperatures of 293K and 373K. Table 5 presents technological properties of basic materials. There are basic proper- ties of materials, temperature range of their application, peculiarities of their service in composition of the engine The materials are chosen in conformity with NTD recommendations and experi- ence of their service in the previously developed engines. Materials resistance against corrosion and cracking, their compatibility between each other and with working fluids meet the requirements specified and are confirmed by long-term service in the similar structures, so there are no reasons to perform any addi- tional tests. Materials and coatings of the engine do not emit gases at elevated temperatures and are not nutrient for fungi 3 CONCLUSIONS 3.1. On the basis of performed design works on the Jasmine project a conclusion may be made that the chosen parts, materials and technological processes have been de- veloped in similar products of YZH origin and will ensure engine manufacture with re- quired performance and reliability. 3.2. During elaboration of DD and its coordination with the Customer some correc- tions are possible as to the application of completing parts and materials without degrada- tion of the engine’s performance and reliability.
