The Only NATO War – Against the Serbs

Two texts: Balkan Peace Elusive as Ever about the Serbian province of Kosovo,
currently occupied by the NATO, and Hundreds Die After Radioactive Bombing about
the NATO bombing of Serbs in Bosnia-Herzegovina to be prepared and introduced by
students; further information on the topic of Hiroshima bombing during World War II to
be provided by a student who volunteered to get information at the library/over the
Internet.

During the first class, we talk about the US attempt to take Kosovo out of Serbia’a
jurisdiction. The article from Chinese press is several years old, but it is still very much to
the point, as the negotiations continue this and next month, after Russia threatened to veto
any UN resolution forcibly changing borders of a sovereign country like Serbia.

The second period is devoted to the text about the use of attomic weapons, as the
“depleted” uranium boms that have been used extensively against the Serbs in Bosnia
Herzegovina and Serbia itself which during the NATO campaign was construed as “the
enemy”, but also very frequently in the province of Kosovo where most of US “allies”
ethnic Albanians, whom the US wants to get independence, live.

We shall also discuss whether the use of atomic bomb at Hiroshima was necessary to stop
the war being carried out by Japanese forces.

Presenters are allowed to read, but preference is given to speaking freely with occasional
checking of the text to make sure they said everything they had written.

Depending on how much time we need for the three articles, during the 3rd class we shall
look into one or two articles with a similar (or the same) topic from the Internet
