In the praise of the noble prophet

Mohammed (peace be upon him)

In Madina is the grave of the prophet, which visited by angels

It is such grave, there is excellence in empyrean and in the sky

The tomb of the holy prophet in Madina

Is there any relation between desert of Madina with the

gardens?
So with the lovely air of Madina, it is envious the garden of
paradise

If Madina city is safe then everything is safe

So Allah keeps it as the cause of the blessing
5

Madina is such a garden city which is the décor of all gardens

The seasons of the gardens of paradise are due to the Madina

While leaving Madina, so no need to visit the garden of paradise

As it is better than heaven and it is a living paradise on the earth

Not we but Allah also love the city of the

prophet
Love of Madina is love of the prophet and Allah

The beggar of this door is the king of fate and worlds

The beggar of this place is matter of envy of the kings

One who has become rich there so his fate could not known
In the resurrection day prophet, Ibrahim will find help there

Oh, Allah help us to reach Madina city to see how it is there?

Where is the mercy and there is available blessing everywhere?

If one leaves Madina then he will not find the resort of heaven
If there is a love of Madina then it is guaranteed of the heaven

On the earth, he is called Mohammed and Ahmed in the skies

His praise is in the world and also his praise is found in the skies

There is his great rule in Madina also he is a ruler of the skies

Madina is capital and he is the great ruler of the two worlds
6

What mistake you did Fatima by leaving the city of Madina ?

As it is such heaven and liked by the angles of the empyrean
7

Why visitor will go to heaven by leaving the city of Madina ?

What is heaven as it is gracefully for the sake of Madina city

In the praise of Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Quader

Tomb of Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Quader

To call me at your kind door oh Shah Ghouse Azam

Show your kind sight to me oh Shah Ghouse Azam
To improve my condition soon oh Shah Ghouse Azam
To come in a dream of the servant oh Ghouse Azam

For sake of the souls of martyrs oh Shah Ghouse Azam

And show your face of the wisdom oh Shah Ghouse Azam
To show your face as my condition is down for this thing
Saying this with such fondness and in a helpless condition
8

Peeran Peer, oh the great Sultan and Dastagir of time

Oh shah remove my difficulty soon as I am worried much
All the pious persons who put down necks before you
All said in the helpless condition oh Shah Ghouse Azam
With your grace to lighten our chests and as well hearts
Oh great teacher of the religion oh Shah Ghouse Azam
The boat in the sea of grief you are the only saver for us
Come and help the boat to goal oh Shah Ghouse Azam
Waves of the storm of grief are there from everywhere
To save us from such trouble soon oh Shah Ghouse Azam
There is the wish of Fatima to see your tomb in Baghdad
To call your lowest servant to Baghdad oh Ghouse Azam

The miracle of Hadrat Sheikh Abdul Quader Jilani (R.A.)

Mausoleum of Hazrat Shaikh Abdul Quader Jilani R.A.

Hadrat Sheikh Abdul Quader Jilani (R.A.), is the leader of all holy
persons like the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him.) who
10

is the leader of the group of all prophets of Allah which have

been sent down on the world. So, for this reason, he is called
and he is famous as a chief of all the saints. His spiritual benefits
and favours from his miracles were available in the all period of
time and even today is being continued and till the day of the
judgment, such favours and benefits will be available to the
mankind in the world. Because the favour and benefits of the
holy persons which is available during the life period and which
will be also available in the world after their demise from the
world. Allah the most Merciful and Beneficent has kept the holy
persons in every period of time so that there should available
favours of miracles and benefits to the mankind from them.
The holy persons due to the nearness of Allah and
perfection in the obedience of the prophet of Allah they were
away from the sins. Allah has given them the most excellent
status of the holy persons of the nation of the prophet
Mohammed (peace be upon him) and Allah’s divine power
being manifest by the holy persons

So for getting favour and benefits from the holy persons is

in fact of getting favour and benefits from Allah because their
saying, actions are according to the commandments of Allah
and as per the practice of the last prophet of Allah.
Hadrat Sheikh Abdul Quader Jilani (R.A.), and who was the
Qutub (highest cadre in spiritual pivot) of all time’s favour of
spiritual miracle is available in his saying which is as mentioned
as follows.
11

“If my disciple’s hiding will be open and if he will be there in

the East, and if I am in the West then I will cover it.”
In this way, his disciples and devotees were able to get his
favour of miracles and benefits of spiritual powers in all time
and at always. And they think him as a manifest of the help of
Allah and so, for this reason, they see his favour of miracles and
benefits from him. There is saying of the prophet, which is as
follows.
“If your animal will run away from you then you should call
as oh people of Allah help me.”
12

For the revival of the religion of Islam, Hadrat Sheikh Abdul

Quader Jilani (R.A.), is such an enormous personality and a
great leader and due to the blessing of his hand while finding
the religion of Islam as a patient in the exemplary shape and
given new life to it and so then he was becoming famous and
well known by the title of Mohiuddin.
13

The eleven principles of Naqshabandia Sufi chain

Mausoleum of Hadrat Khaja Bahuddin Naqshaband

The first eight principles are from 'Abd ul-Khaliq Ghujduwani (d.
1220). The final three principles were added by Baha ad-din
Naqshband (d. 1389).
1.Awareness in the Breath/Awareness in the Moment (Hush
dar dam)
14

"Every breath which is exhaled from within must be exhaled

with awareness and presence of mind and so that the mind
does not stray into forgetfulness."
Baha ad-din Naqshband said: "The foundation of our work is in
the breath. The more that one is able to be conscious of one's
breathing, the stronger is one's inner life. It is a must for
everyone to safeguard his breath in the time of his inhalation
and exhalation and further, to safeguard his breath in the
interval between the inhalation and exhalation."
As the seeker becomes occupied with the exercise of the
moment (i.e. remembering the breath), he turns his attention
from remembering the past and thinking of the future, and
focuses on each breath until it is expired.
Sa'd ud-din Kashghari added: "Hush dar dam is moving from
breath to breath so there is no heedlessness but rather there is
presence, and with each breath that we take should be the
remembrance of the Real."
Sheikh Abdul Janab Najmuddin al-Kubra said in his book,
Fawatih al-Jamal: "Dhikr (remembrance of God in the breath) is
flowing in the body of every single living creature by the
necessity of their breath—even without will—as a sign of
obedience, which is part of their creation. Through their
breathing, the sound of the letter 'Ha' of the Divine Name Allah
is made with every exhalation and inhalation and it is a sign of
the Unseen Essence serving to emphasize the Uniqueness of
God. Therefore it is necessary to be present with that
15

breathing,
16

in order to realize the Essence of the Creator."

The name Allah, which encompasses the ninety-nine Names
and Attributes, consists of four letters, Alif, Lam, Lam and Hah
(ALLAH). The people of Sufism say that the absolute unseen
Essence of Allah Exalted and Almighty is expressed by the last
letter vowelized by the Alif, "Hah." It represents the Absolutely
Unseen "He-ness" of the Exalted God (Ghayb al-Huwiyya al-
Mutlaqa lillah 'azza wa jall) in which the mystic loses his
separate identity with every "hah" in his breath.
17

The first Lam is for the sake of identification (tacrif) and the
second Lam is for the sake of emphasis (mubalagha).
The soul has long been thought to be in the breath. "For the
early thinkers the soul was visualized sensuously as a breath-
body." Awareness of the breath makes us aware of the soul and
the inner body, inner self, which belong to the moment.
In the path of the Khwajagan awareness in the breath is a
very great principle. Those in this path regard it a great
transgression to become unconscious of the breath.

2.Watch your Step! (Nazar bar qadam)

Direct yourself constantly towards the goal.
Sa'd ud-din Kashghari added: "Looking upon the steps means
that the seeker in coming and going looks upon the top of his
feet and thereby his attention is not scattered by looking at
what he should not look at." When the beginner's attention is
taken by shapes and colors outside of himself, his state of
remembering leaves him and is ruined, and he is kept from his
objective. This is because the beginning seeker does not have
the power of the "remembrance of the heart," so when his
sight falls upon things, his heart loses its collectedness, and his
mind becomes scattered.
Watch your step can also refer to watching circumstances,
feeling when is the right time for action, when is the right time
for inaction, and when is the right time for pause. Some have
18

said that Nazar bar qadam is an expression which refers to the

wisdom inherent in one's natural disposition.
Fakhr ud-Din Kashifi added: "Nazar bar qadam may be alluding
to the seekers traveling through the stages of breaking from
existence and putting behind self- love."
Of these three interpretations, the first refers to beginners' use
of this aphorism, the second refers to those in mid-progress on
the Way, and the third to the Attainers.
19

3.The Journey Home (Safar dar watan)

Your journey is towards your homeland. Remember you are
traveling from a world of illusion to a world of reality. The
wayfarer travels from the world of creation to the world of the
Creator.
The Journey Home is the transformation that brings man out
of his subjective dream state, so that he can fulfill his divine
destiny.
From the Rashahat-i 'ayn al-hayat: "[The journey home refers
to] that traveling which the seeker makes within his human
nature. In other words, travel from the qualities of humankind
toward the angelic qualities, moving from blameworthy
qualities to laudable ones." Sheikh Ahmad Sirhindi (d. 1624)
said: "This blessed expression [traveling in the homeland]
means traveling within the self. The source of its results lies in
putting the final [practice] at the beginning, which is one of the
characteristics of the Naqshbandi Way. And although this
[inner] traveling can also be found in other tariqas [schools of
Sufism], [in those] it is found only in the end after the 'traveling
on the horizons' [referring to the Qur'anic verse (41:53): 'We
will show them Our signs on the horizons and within their
selves until they know He is the Real']."
"Traveling on the horizons" is traveling from place to place.
At the beginning of the journey it can mean leaving home to
find a guide or teacher. Also it happened in former generations
that when the wayfarer had become established in a place, got
20

accustomed to it and become familiar with its people, they took

21

on traveling in order to break down habit and comfort and cut

themselves off from renown. They would choose travel in order
to experience complete emptying.
It means traveling within oneself, looking at oneself, examining
oneself and one's reactions, and how they act upon one.
This reflects the stress that the Naqshbandi path puts on the
inner states, stages, processes.
Be an external resident and let your heart
travel. Traveling without legs is the best kind of
travel.
22

4.Solitude in the Crowd (Khalwat dar anjuman)

There are two kinds of retreat. One is the outward kind in
which the seeker, far from people, sits alone in his cell until he
comes into contact with the spiritual world. This result comes
about because the external senses withdraw themselves and
the inner senses extend themselves to signs from the spiritual
world.
The second kind of retreat is the hidden one, where the seeker
is inwardly witnessing the secrets of the Real while he is
outwardly surrounded by people. Khalwat dar anjuman is of
this second type of retreat: outwardly to be with people,
inwardly to be with God.
In all your outer activities remain inwardly free. Learn not to
identify with anything whatsoever.
Khwaja Awliya Kabir, one of the deputies of 'Abd ul-Khaliq
Ghujduwani, explained khalwat dar anjuman as follows:
"'Retreat within the crowd' is that state when one is so
constantly and completely absorbed in divine remembrance
that 'one could walk through the market-place without hearing
a word.'"
They are with their Lord and simultaneously they are with the
people. As the Prophet said, "I have two sides: one faces my
Creator and one faces creation."
'Abd ul-Khaliq Ghujduwani himself was known to say: "Close
the door of the formality of sheikhhood, open the door of
23

friendship. Close the door of khalwat (solitary retreat) and

24

open the door of suhbat (companionship)." Baha ad-din

Naqshband said in this connection: "Our path is in
companionship. In [physical] retreat there comes fame and
with fame comes calamity. Our welfare lies with the assembly
and its companionship, on condition that [self-] negation is
found in one another."
When Baha ad-din reached Herat on his journey to Mecca,
the Amir Hussein arranged a gathering in his honour. At the
assembly the Amir asked him, "Since with your Presence there
is neither audible dhikr, nor voyaging, nor audition of special
music and poetry, what is your path?" He answered, "The pure
words of the tribe of 'Abd ul-Khaliq Ghujduwani, which are
'retreat within the crowd,' and we follow in their Way." "What
is retreat within the crowd?" the Amir asked. "Outwardly to be
with the people while inwardly to be with God," said
Naqshband.
25

The Amir expressed surprise and asked whether this was

actually possible. Baha ad-din replied that if it were not possible
God Most High would not have indicated it in a Qur'anic verse
which describes those who are not distracted from the
remembrance of God even while in the marketplace: "Men
whom neither business nor profit distracts from the
recollection of Allah" [24:37]. This is the way of the Naqshbandi
Order.
Ahmad Faruqi Sirhindî, Mujaddid-i-alf-i-thani (the Renewer
of the second millennium), said: "Retreat within the crowd is
derived from traveling in the homeland since if traveling in the
homeland is properly accomplished, then retreat within the
crowd will properly occur. The seeker within the diversity of the
crowd travels in his own land, and the diversity of the horizons
finds no way into the meditation cell of his inner self. This
treasure will manifest with difficulty at the beginning and with
no difficulty in the end. And in this tariqa it is the portion of the
beginning while in other paths it is at the end. This is so
because the treasure is derived from traveling within the self
(with presence in the moment), which is at the beginning of this
path, while traveling on the horizons takes place
simultaneously. This is the opposite of the other paths which
make the traveling on the horizons the beginning and the
traveling within the self the end."
In the words of al-Kharraz: "Perfection is not in exhibitions
of miraculous powers, but perfection is to sit among people,
sell and buy, marry and have children; and yet never leave the
26

presence of Allah even for one moment."

5.Remembrance (Yad kard)
Concentration on Divine Presence.
For the Naqshbandiyya remembrance is practiced in the silent
dhikr.Keep God, the Beloved, always in your heart. Let your prayer,
dhikr, be the prayer of your heart.
20

According to Khwaja Ubaydullah Ahrar, "the real meaning of

dhikr is inward awareness of God. The purpose of dhikr is to
attain this consciousness." The purpose of the dhikr is to keep
one's heart and attention entirely focused on the Beloved in
love and devotion.
The dhikr is not just repeated as words, but is in the heart.
Remembrance of the tongue becomes remembrance of the
heart. Abdu'l-Qadir al-Gilani said: "At the first stage one recites
the name of God with one's tongue; then when the heart
becomes alive one recites inwardly. At the beginning one
should declare in words what one remembers. Then stage by
stage the remembrance spreads throughout one's being—
descending to the heart then rising to the soul; then still further
it reaches the realm of the secrets; further to the hidden; to the
most hidden of the hidden."
6.Returning (from distraction), Going Back (Baz gasht)
Travel one way.The return to God. Single-minded pursuit of
divine truth.

This means banishing and dispelling every thought, good or

bad, that comes to mind involuntarily during the dhikr. When
performing the remembrance the heart is required to attain the
calm contentment of: “Oh Allah, my goal is You and Your good
pleasure; it is nothing else!” So long as there is any space left in
the heart for other interests, such calm contentment cannot
take shape, and the remembrance cannot be genuine. Even
21

if this
22

tranquility cannot be attained at the outset, one must not

abandon the remembrance, and it is necessary to persist in its
performance until this feeling is acquired.

The meaning of baz gasht is the return to Allah Exalted and

Almighty by showing complete surrender and submission to His
Will, and complete humbleness in giving Him all due praise. The
reason, mentioned by the Holy Prophet in his invocation, ma
dhakarnaka haqqa dhikrika ya Madhkar (“We did not
Remember You as You Deserve to be Remembered, O Allah”), is
that the seeker cannot come to the presence of Allah in his
dhikr, and cannot manifest the Secrets and Attributes of Allah in
his dhikr, if he does not make dhikr with Allah's support and
with Allah's remembrance of him. As Bayazid Bistami (d. 874)
said: “When I reached
23

Him I saw that His remembering of me preceded my

remembrance of Him.” The seeker cannot make dhikr by
himself.
He must recognize that Allah is the one making dhikr through
Him.

“Beloved, you and your approval are my purpose and desire.”

This attitude will rid one of impure thoughts and distractions. It
relates to the path of absorption. One Sufi was concerned that
he was not sincere, and was ashamed. So his sheikh took him to
a Sufi who was on the path of absorption, and this sheikh told
him that absorption, not hair-splitting, would free him from his
problem. The wayfarer realized that in his worry about his
dishonesty and shame, his wants and needs, he had been
focused on himself, separating himself from his Beloved.

According to Khwaja Ahrar, the saying “returning” means

that we have within us the goal of our striving. The seeds of
transformation are sown in us from above and we have to
treasure them above all possessions.
7. Attentiveness (Nigah dasht)
Struggle with all alien thoughts. Be always mindful of what
you are thinking and doing, so that you may put the imprint of
your immortality on every passing incident and instance of your
daily life.
Be watchful. Be aware of what catches your attention. Learn to
withdraw your attention from undesirable objects. This is also
24

expressed as "be vigilant in thought and remember yourself."

Nigah means sight. It means that the seeker must watch his
heart and safeguard it by preventing bad thoughts from
entering. Bad inclinations keep the heart from joining with the
Divine.
It is acknowledged in the Naqshbandiyya that for a seeker to
safeguard his heart from bad inclinations for fifteen minutes is
a great achievement. For this he would be considered a real
Sufi. Sufism is the power to safeguard the heart from bad
thoughts and protect it from low inclinations. Whoever
accomplishes these two goals will know his heart, and whoever
knows his heart will know his Lord. The Holy Prophet has said,
"Whoever knows himself knows His Lord."
25

Sa'd ud-Din Kashgari said: "The seeker must, for one hour or
two or whatever he is capable of, hold onto his mind and
prevent thoughts of other [than God] entering." Another
description from the Munahej ul-Sair has it that: "[Nigah dasht
is the] guarding of the special awareness and presence which
have resulted from the noble dhikr, so that remembering of
anything other than the Real does not find its way into the
heart/mind."
Yet others have written that nigah dasht also applies to
the time of the dhikr itself: "Nigah dasht is when the seeker at
the time of the dhikr holds his heart/mind upon the meaning of
LA ILAHA ILLA 'LLAH so that thoughts do not find entrance into
his heart, because if thoughts are in the mind then the result of
the dhikr, meaning presence of the heart/mind, will not
manifest." It has also been said, "Nigah dasht is an expression
meaning the prevention of the occurance of thought at the
time one is occupied with [repeating] the fragrant sentence [of
LA ILAHA ILLA 'LLAH]."
Abdul Majid Il Khani said that the meaning of preserving the
heart/mind from incoming thoughts is that they lose their hold
on the mind. In this connection Khwaja Ubaydullah Ahrar said:
"The meaning of preserving the mind [from thoughts] is not
that the seeker can avoid thoughts at the beginning [of his
attempts], but rather that thoughts do not disturb the
attendance and presence[required for the dhikr]. [Thoughts]
can be likened to straw which has fallen onto moving water and
yet the water is not prevented from its course. 'Abd ul-Khaliq
26

Ghujduwani said: "It isn't so that thoughts never enter the

heart/mind, but rather
27

that at times they do and at times they do not." His statement

seems to be supported by Khwaja 'Ala al-Din al-'Attar who
reported: "Succeeding with thoughts is difficult or even
impossible. I preserved my heart for twenty years from
thoughts, after which they would still appear but they then
found no hold there."

8.Continued Remembrance / Perpetual Invocation (Yad dasht)

Constant awareness in the presence of God. "The complete
experience of divine contemplation, achieved through the
action of objective love."
28

Those on the path maintain that when inner love is always

present in one's dealings with the world, then one has achieved
this mindfulness.
This is the last stage before transformation is completed. The
seeker becomes aware that his loss of "self" will be
compensated by objective love. The humiliation (abnegation of
self) that leads to this stage ceases to touch the seeker for he
discovers the unlimited joy that Truth will bring.
Yad dasht refers to the durability of the awareness of the Real
in the path of "tasting" (living in the multiplicity of illusion). In
the Rashahat-i 'ain al-Hayyat it is stated: "Some have said that
this is a perceiving/witnessing which is the domination of
witnessing the Real in the heart through essential love."
Ubaydullah Ahrar said: "Yad dasht is an expression meaning
the durability of the awareness of the Glorious Real." He said
further: "It means presence [with God] without disappearance."
Regarding the use of the term for the period of the dhikr
itself it has been said: "Yad dasht is that which the dhakir
(person practicing dhikr) during the dhikr maintains [fully the
meaning of] negation and affirmation in his heart in the
presence of the Named."
Khwaja Ubaydullah Ahrar has described the principles five
through eight as following each other in this manner: "Yad kard
(Remembrance) refers to the work of invoking/remembering.
Baz gasht(Returning) means turning to the High Real in the
manner that when saying the fragrant sentence of the dhikr the
29

seeker follows this in his heart with "God you are my true goal!"
and nigah dasht(Attentiveness) is the holding on to this
turning [to the Real] without words. Yad dasht
(Recollection) means constancy/firmness in [the holding on of]
nigah dasht (Attentiveness)."

9. Awareness of One's State of Mind / Time (Wuquf-i-zamani)

Baha ad-din Naqshband said that this consciousness is the
maker and guide of the disciple. It means to be attentive to
one's state of mind at any given moment and to know whether
it is a cause for giving thanks or for repenting.
30

It means: To keep account of one's temporal states. To

distinguish presence, huzur, from absence, ghaflat. Baha ad-din
described this as "self- possession" or "mindfulness." He added
that one should always be grateful when one returns to a state
of presence.
In wuquf-i-zaman the seeker remains constantly aware of his
changing states. Baha ad-din Naqshband explained: "Wuquf-i-
zamani is the work of the traveler on the Way: to be attentive
of his state, and to know whether it is a cause for giving thanks
or for repenting, to give thanks while feeling spiritual elation,
and to repent while in spiritual dryness or contraction."
He also stated: "The foundation of the work of the seeker has
been established in the awareness of time [exercise] as seeing
at each moment whether the perceiver of breaths is [breathing]
with presence or with forgetfulness."
Maulana Yaqub Charkhi, in his Explanation of the Names of
Allah, said: "Khwaja [Naqshband] instructed that in the state of
qabz (contraction) one should seek God's forgiveness, whereas
in the state of bast (expansion) one should offer thanks. Close
observation of these two states constitutes wuquf-i-zamani."
Wuquf-i- zamani of the Naqshbandi path is equivalent to the
term "mohasseba"(keeping account of/close observation) used
by other Sufis.
Jami, in the Resalah-i-nuria, said:"Wuquf-i-zamani is a term
meaning the keeping account of the times one passes in [a
state of] dispersal (tafriqah) or collectedness (jam'iyyat)."
31

10. Awareness of Number (Wuquf-i-adadi)

An expression meaning the observation of the number of
individual repetitions of the dhikr. Jami said: "Wuquf-i-adadi is
the observation of the number of dhikrs and of whether this
[observation] yields results or not." According to Baha ad-din
Naqshband, "The observation of the number of repetitions of
the dhikr of the heart is for gathering thoughts/mental activity
which are scattered."
According to Khwaja 'Ala al-Din al-'Attar, "The important
thing is not the number of repetitions but rather the
composure and awareness with which one makes them."
32

According to Baha ad-din Naqshband, this awareness is the

first stage of entry into the spiritual world.
This could also mean that for beginners, reading about the
achievements and states of consciousness demonstrated by
those advanced in this practice would be helpful, since in
reading about another's state of nearness, one acquires a
certain quality of inner inspiration.
For advanced disciples, this technique, which facilitates the
initial stages of acquiring inner intuition and inspiration, brings
a consciousness of the unity of diversity:

This diversity and proliferation is all but a show, The

One is manifest in the all.
Diversity, if you look with open eyes, is naught but unity. No
doubts for us, though there might be in some minds. Though
appearance is in numbers, the substance is but one.
(It should be noted that inner inspiration, that understanding
which brings the practitioner and people on the path closer to
higher teachings, comes through divine grace and is not due to
mind discoveries. "Knowledge comes from grace. The
difference between divine inspiration and divine knowledge is
that divine knowledge comes through internalizing the light of
the Essence and the divine attributes, while divine inspiration is
gained through receptivity to inner meanings and those types
of instructions which manifest within the practitioner.")
33

11. Awareness of the Heart (Wuquf-i-qalbi)

The heart becomes aware of God. This marks the awakening
of divine love. The individual becomes aware that his existence
is an obstacle to his final transformation and he no longer fears
to sacrifice it because he sees for himself that he will gain
infinitely more than he loses.
Wuquf-i-qalbi has been described as having two meanings. One
is that the seeker's heart in the midst of the dhikr is conscious
and aware of the Real. On this point Khwaja Ubaydullah Ahrar
said: "Wuquf-i-qalbi is an expression meaning an
34

awareness and presence of heart toward the Most High Real

felt in such a manner that the heart feels no need of anything
except the Real." This meaning is similar to that of yad dasht.
Heart consciousness means heart's resting with the Beloved,
as if nothing and no one else existed.
The other meaning is that there is awareness of the heart
itself. In other words, the seeker during the time of the dhikr is
attentive to the cone-shaped heart which is the "seat of
subtlety," and prevents it from becoming unaware during the
saying of the dhikr.
Baha ad-din Naqshband did not consider it necessary to hold
the breath during the dhikr as is done in some tariqas, even
though he considered that practice to have its benefits; nor did
he consider essential the wuquf-i-zamani and wuquf-i- adadi
(awareness of time and awareness of number). But
according to the Qodsîyyah he considered "the observance of
wuquf-i-qalbi the most important and necessary because it is
the summary and essence of the intention of the dhikr."
Like an expecting mother-bird, sit watchfully on the egg of
your heart, Since from this egg will result your drunkenness,
self-abandoned, uproarious laughter and your final union.

When Hazrat Shah Naqshband was a young

man, he went to Makkahtul Mukarrama to perform
his obligatory pilgrimage. When he arrived, he was
met by Hazrat Khizr (may Allah be pleased with
him), who blessed him with his teachings and
granted him a new cane as a gift. In Bukhara, this
cane grew into a beautiful tree that gave shade to
the area around Shah Naqshband's tomb for
hundreds of years.

The verse Fateha (The opening)

It is difficult Your praise and hidden Your virtues

You are visible there and You are in everything
Every particle, you created from beginning to end
You are Sustainer of this word and in other world
You are Lord of the worlds and forgiver of worlds
You are kind and Your favor is there for all persons
For pious persons, You are kind and merciful to all
Your favour and much kindness is there for all
You are the owner who settles deeds upon death
In your kind hands the penalty and a prize is there
All our worship is for You Oh Lord of two worlds
All slaves big or small belong to you from the origin
For our needs, your personality is and must for us
You give all one who calls you as You are a helper
Guide us right path on which path who went away
With Your graces and went away on such right path
There will be no such way, which is ignored by You
Which misguide persons in the way due to your anger
This is the prayer of your slave and you kindly accept
Caller’s prayer as you are the owner of the 2 worlds.

In the praise of the prophet

Mausoleum of the prophet in Madina

In the praise of the prophet

6

In Madina is the grave of the prophet, which visited by angels

It is such grave, there is excellence in empyrean and in the sky

In Madina is the grave of the prophet, which visited by angels

It is such grave, there is excellence in empyrean and in the sky

Is there any relation between desert of Madina with the

gardens?
So with the lovely air of Madina, it is envious the garden of
paradise

If Madina city is safe then everything is safe

So Allah keeps it as the cause of the blessing
7

Madina is such a garden city which is the décor of all gardens

The seasons of the gardens of paradise are due to the Madina

While leaving Madina, so no need to visit the garden of paradise

As it is better than heaven and it is a living paradise on the earth

Not we but Allah also love the city of Madina

The love of Madina city is the love of the
prophet

8

What mistake you did Fatima by leaving the city of Madina ?

As it is such heaven and liked by the angles of the empyrean
9

Why visitor will go to heaven by leaving the city of Madina ?

What is heaven as it is gracefully for the sake of Madina city

Preface

In this book translation of episodes from the Urdu edition of

the E-book AKHRI 5 DIN OF PBUH by Mohammed Akmal
Alkandi, Attari is added by me upon its translation into the
English edition and this book is well known and this is a famous
Urdu book which is written by Mohammed Akmal Alkandi Attari
and who wrote this book in the Urdu language and which is
translated by me into the English language for the first time.
And I have given its title as .”The last five days of the prophet.”
These episodes have been translated by me into the English
language from the above old book of the Urdu language and in
which there are available some great achievements, as well as
his commands and the teaching of the holy prophet in the area
of Arabia during his life period laying the foundation of Islamic
religion in the Mecca and such details which are not yet known
to the general and special persons, are added in this book and
which are available in a very interesting style so, for this reason,
the readers will find great interest and attention in this matter.
Due to the above facts and details, if the readers will start
treading the first page of the book and will not stop reading till
they will reach this book’s last page as some interesting events
and as well as other great details and endeavors of the holy
prophet of the Makkah is added in this book and this holy
14

prophet was passed away from the world many centuries and
years ago.
Even though this is a small book, but due to its importance, it
is so great due to the coverage of many interesting events and
positive information so it is like an ocean of knowledge and
information of the prophet who was passed away from the
world upon doing his great endeavors and many hard tasks for
the teaching and propagation of the Islamic religion and the
work of Islam and which he was done in the Arabian area so
this book is a great book and it will present the ocean of
knowledge for the guidance of people towards the right path of
Islam.

To write about this great holy prophet of the Arabian

peninsula and his great endeavors is not only it is difficult and
but it is a very hard task. He was the pioneer of the Islamic
religion in Arabia and he was not only a great pious personality
in the area of Arabia and he was also a great and well known
and as well as famous the last prophet of Allah so, in brief, but
he was also a great holy person of Allah of his time in the
Arabin region and in all other parts of the world.
For a long time, he was engaged in religious discourses,
sermons, and training of the people and he did also many great
endeavors for the preaching and propagation work of Islam in
the Arabian peninsula and around the world, and also there
was no such personality during his time in the other parts of the
world.

The last five days of the prophet

                           1.The Farewell pilgrimage

This day the disbeliever's despair of prevailing against your

religion, so fear them not, but fear Me (Allah)! This day have I
perfected for you, your religion and fulfilled My favour unto
you, and it hath been My good pleasure to choose Islam for you
as your religion. (Surah 5, Ayah 3)
Details of sending down of the above verse: In the Bukhari
and Muslim Hadith books. (The term Hadith derives from the
Arabic root ḥ-d-the meaning “to happen” and so “to tell a
happening,” “to report,” “to have, or give, as news,” or “to
speak of.” It means tradition is seen as narrative and record.) In
these books, there is mentioned saying of the prophet in which
it is added one saying of the prophet that “One Jew came into
the presence of Hazrat Umar Bin Qattab (R.A.) and told him
that “ Oh ruler of the Muslims in your holy book Quran there is
available one verse and if it would have been sending to us
then we will celebrate its day of sending as the Eid (festival)
day.” And then he has recited the above verse of the Holy
Quran. Hazrat Umar told him that “I know about that the day
when this verse has been sent to the prophet. And I also know
the place where this verse was sent down by Allah.”
16

The last sermon was delivered on the Ninth day of Dhul-

Hijjah, 10th Hegira ( 623 A.D.) year in the Uranah valley of
Mount Arafat in Mecca. It was the occasion of the annual rites
of Haj pilgrimage. It is also known as the Farewell Pilgrimage.
And the day was Friday and by this, he wants to say that day for
us like Eid day.
In Tarmazi book it is mentioned one tradition by Hazrat Abbas
that with him also one Jew said the same thing then he told him
that “When this verse was sent down to us on that the day
there were two days of Eid, one is Friday and the other is Arfa
Eid day.”

So this verse was added to the sermon which was delivered
on the Ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah, 10 A.H. ( 623A.D) in the Uranah
valley of Mount Arafat in Mecca and at that time the prophet
was riding on she-camel.
Upon sending down the above verse then there was not
sent down any other verse about orders of lawful and unlawful
things and in matters of trouble and hardships, all orders of
lawful and forbidden have been sent. As per the scholars of the
exegesis of the Quran this verse clearly saying that “ Islamic
religion is up to the time of doomsday and like other religious
laws it will not be canceled. The prophet of Allah could not bear
the meaning and explanation of the above verse. And he was
bent on his she-camel and that she-camel sat on the ground.”
And Allah told him that “ Oh my friend the religion for which
you have made preacher and which is completed by all aspects.
The success of the religion of Islam and is overpowering and is
being observed by you and your slaves in this matter. The
17

believes on which there is depend on your salvation and Shariat

and about law’s basic rules and regulation and due to it's you
can get easy solutions to the new problems which you can face
in this matter.”

There is found the book of the guidance like Quran and guide
of reality like Mohammed were sent to you and cleared the
way of the guidance and who was given divine help to the man
to follow on this way. And has completed the religion of Islam
and was given a glad tiding of the conquest of the Makkah. And
destroyed the pillar of ignorance. And he was completed and
fulfilled His favour unto us, and it hath been his good pleasure
to choose Islam for us as our religion among all other religions.

2. The arrival of the angel Gabriel and the sadness of the

companions due to the separation of the prophet

After this angel, Gabriel came over there and he told that “
Oh prophet of Allah your religion has been completed. It was
clarified Hallal (legal) and Haram (prohibited) things upon you.
So gather your companions and have informed them that from
today onward I will not come with Wahi (Wahi is the Arabic
word for revelation. In Islamic belief, revelations are God's
Word delivered by His chosen individuals – known as
Messengers – to mankind. In Islam, the Quran is considered a
Wahi has given to Prophet Muhammad.)
The prophet then came to Madina from Arafat valley in
Mecca and he has gathered all his companions and was told
18

them about the completion of the holy book Quran and

completion of the religion of Islam. So, for this reason, all
companions have become happy and cheerful. But Hazrat Abu
Baker Siddiq R.A. has become very sad and Hazrat Umar Bin
Qattab R.A. began weeping. But the king of truth’s condition
was very strange and he came back in his house and by closing
the house he began weeping day and night very much. When
the companions have seen the condition of anxiety of the
Hazrat Abu Baker Siddiq R.A., then they were surprised in this
matter and they told him in the condition of surprise and asked
him that “Oh Abu Baker this is a day of happiness and pleasure
and you are weeping.” And he told them that “You people do
not know that there is going to fall upon us the mountains of
problems and worries. It should be remembered that when
there will finish anything then in it there find loss in it. Now
listen that this verse says the follows things.”

1.Separation of the prophet.

2.The closure of the news from the sky.
3.The orphanage of the Hazrat Imam Hasan R.A., and Hazrat
Imam Hussain R.A.

3. Becoming of widows of the wives of the prophet

Upon hearing this information than the companions of the

prophet were becoming very sad and upset in this matter. And
they began weeping. Then they have submitted requests in the
presence of the prophet that all companions have become
19

upset and worry in this matter and except loud and cry we
could not able to understand. When the prophet was able to
know the condition of his slaves then he himself has become
worried and bothered. Then he immediately went to see his
companions. And he has asked them that “What was happened
to them.? And why there is your such loud and cry.?” Then
Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib R.A. told him that “Hazrat Abu Baker
R.A. saying that this verse is informing about your leaving from
this world.” He told that “Yes Abu Baker is saying right. And my
time has come to leave this world. And I am going to leave all of
you in this world.” Upon hearing this loud and cry of the
companions raised more and more. The control of patience of
Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib R.A. was no more with him and tears like
rainwater were began falling from his eyes. As well as the sky
angels and sea fishes and all other things began weeping and
loud and cry started for this reason. The prophet has consoled
all of them and has given them the instruction of patience and
shaken his hand with all companions. And have given
instruction and some advice to them. With some difference of
the tradition then he went to the prophet’s mosque in Madina.
And he has stood at the pulpit then he began giving sermons of
heartbreaking and liver affecting with many eloquent and
expressive details.

                        4. The last advice of the prophet

As per the tradition of Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib R.A., who has
said that when the verse of Fatah was sent then there was
started illness upon the prophet. Till as such that Hazrat Fazil
20

Bin Abbas R.A. was told that prophet came to see him. And at
that time his head was suffering from severe pain. And he told
him to catch his hand and to take to the prophet’s mosque of
Madina and then he has sat on the pulpit. And at that time his
face was yellow. And he told me “ Oh Fazal call to the people to
come to the grand mosque. So then I have cried in loud voice
Salat al-jama‘ah (Congregational Prayer). And people began
coming to the mosque by running there.”

And as per one tradition upon sitting on the pulpit the

prophet was given the order to Hazrat Bilal R.A., to announce
the public call to hear their prophet’s last advice. As per the
order, Bilal began announcing in the lanes and streets of
Madina by weeping and crying that to hear the last advice of
the prophet.
Upon hearing the painful call small and big persons began
with much worry and concern left their houses and shops and
were came to the grand mosque of the prophet. The women in
the veil were also with anxiety want to hear the last advice of
the prophet so they were also present in the grand mosque of
the prophet and came from their houses. With the audience,
the mosque has become full and there was no space in the big
mosque of the prophet. Upon seeing the passion and desire of
the Muslims, the prophet was beginning weeping and he said
‫هَّٰلِل‬
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (Arabic: ‫ُون‬ َ ‫إِ َّنا ِ َوإِ َّنا إِ َل ْي ِه َرا ِجع‬, ʾinnā
li-llāhi wa-ʾinna ʾilayhi rājiʿūna), also known as Istirja (Arabic:
‫ٱسْ ِترْ َجاع‬, ʾIstirjāʿ), is a Quranic command for Muslims, mentioned
in the second surah of the Quran, and meaning "Verily we
21

belong to Allah and verily to Him do we return." And after the

praise of Allah, he said as follows.

“ I am, Mohammed bin Abdulla bin Abdul Muttalib bin Hashim

Makki and after me, there will not come any prophet of Allah.
Oh, persons hear carefully.”
“ There was given me news of my departure from this world.
And soon I am leaving you. And I am eager to meet my creator.
I am very sad to leave my dear nation. See after me my nation
will involve a different type of tribulations. Oh, Allah keeps
them safe “ Oh, people listen to my advice carefully and keep
remember that it is my last advice. And convey my message to
all who are not present here. To hear it with much care and
attention and remember it well that Allah in his book Quran has
given clear details about illegal and legal things. And he was
said you about enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil’ or Amr Bil
Maaroof, Nahi Anil Munkir:
So think legal as legal and forbidden as illegal. And to have
faith upon verses of resembling. Because you are not able to
understand its meaning. To act upon the verses in which there
are orders and take lessons from the examples and events
which are mentioned in the Holy Quran.
Upon saying the above the prophet has seen at the sky three
times and he said “Oh Allah be witness that I have performed
my duties of the prophet-hood.”
Then he said “Oh people see it that to be kept away from
sensual desires and which keep you away from the heaven and
bring it near to the hell and these are such desires. It makes
compulsory congregation prayers and way of Islam upon
22

yourself. Because from it there will be the nearness of Allah and

grace of heaven and there will be the salvation of the hell.
Then he has looked at the sky and he said,” Oh Allah be
witness that I have conveyed your message.”
Then he said that “Oh people have fear of Allah in the
religion and entrusted things and in the matters of the slaves
and servants have fear of Allah. And give them whatever you
eat and whatever you wear and do not give work to them more
than their power. As they have flesh and blood like you. You
can remember that one who involves cruelties and hardships
on the servants than for this matter there will be quarrel of me
with that person on the day of judgment and there will be the
judgment of Allah in this matter.
“ For matters of your wives have fear of Allah. And give them
full dowry amounts. And do not involve cruelty upon them. And
teach them knowledge and manners. If you do cruelties upon
women then your good deeds will be spoiled. Oh, people be
safe you and your household persons from the fire of hell. And
women and prisoners are like entrusted things of Allah with
you.
Then he has looked at the side of the sky and he said “Oh Allah
be witness that I have conveyed your message.”

“ Oh, people to do obedience of the kings of the time and

officers till such that they rule as per Islamic rules. And never do
disobedience of them even though if the ruler of will be a gypsy
person then it is obligated for you to do obedience of him. It is
remembered that one who does the obedience of the ruler
who is my obedient. And one who does the disobedience of the
23

Islamic ruler then he has done disobedience of me. And who is

the sinner of Allah. So be warned in this matter, not to revolt
against your rulers. And do not break agreements upon
confirming with them. And he said, “Oh Allah be witness that I
have conveyed your message.”
“ Oh, people give respect and honor to my companions and
have love of them in your heart. Believe that among all my
nation my companions are greater and superior and during
their period I have got my prophethood. And they accepted my
prophethood first before all of the others. And they have
certified me in this matter. And whatever orders which I have
brought from Allah they have acted upon such orders and they
have followed me.”
“ Oh, people have love of my household and possessors of the
Quran and love of the persons of knowledge and think it as an
obligated thing. Be careful and do not have malice and greed
with them. And do not have to say taunt and mock to them.
Understand well that those who are friends of them are my
friends. And one who is my friend is a friend of Allah. One who
has enmity with them is my enemy. And one who is my enemy
is the enemy of Allah. And he said, “Oh Allah be witness that I
have conveyed your message.”
“Oh, people to perform five times prayer with complete
ablution regularly and think it as obligatory. And perform with
fundamentals of the prayer with much Khushu means
calmness, serenity, tranquility, dignity, and humility.
“Oh, people have continued to pay Zakat (an annual tax
on Muslims to aid poor people in the Muslim community) on
your wealth. And listen carefully that person of Nisab
24

(minimum taxable income for purpose of Zakat) who will not

pay zakat then his prayer will not be accepted as well as his
religion, Hajj pilgrimage and Umra, fastings, and Jihad (a
struggle or fight against the enemies of Islam.).And he said, “Oh
Allah be witness that I have conveyed your message ”
    “ Oh, people
Allah has made Hajj pilgrimage obligatory on the persons of the
sources. And that if any person in spite of capacity and without
any reasonable reason did not perform Hajj pilgrimage and he
died in such condition then there is no care of him to die
whether he may die by becoming Christain and Jew or fire-
worshipper. But if he has the excuse of any illness with him or
restriction of are there for atrocities of the ruler then there is
an excuse for him but if such there is no excuse then on the day
of the judgment there will be no salvation from my side. And he
will not be given drinking water from the water reservoir of
Kauser on the day of the judgment.”
Oh people you will be gathered in the treeless plain on the
day of judgment. And that day is dreadful and horrible and on
that day there will be no use of wealth and children. And on
that day that person will be successful who will have such heart
which will inclination toward Allah. “Oh, Allah be witness that I
have conveyed your message.”
Oh, persons keep your tongue safe from falsehood and
slanders, etc. And engage your eyes in the weeping for the fear
of Allah. And habitation your mosques. And décor your faith by
sincerity. And will have well-wisher for your brothers. For
yourself send before your death present of good deeds in the
court of Allah. And safeguard your private parts. And give
25

charity from your wealth. And do not have greed and malice
among yourselves. So that your good deeds may not spoil. And
do not involve in backbiting of each other. “Oh, Allah be
witness that I have conveyed your message.”
“Oh, persons try to free yourself from the fire of the hell. And
gather good stock and keep away from atrocities and outrages
and Allah will ask you about the rights of your neighborhood
persons.
And you have to settle your accounts with Allah. And you have
to present in the presence of Allah. And Allah will never agree
with your sins. “Oh, Allah be witness that I have conveyed your
message.”
“Oh, persons one who does good deeds then he will get the
result of his good deeds. And one who will involve in bad deeds
then he will face the problem for it. And Allah will not do
injustice to anybody. And be afraid of that horrible day when
you will be in presence of Allah. And every person will get the
full results of whatever deeds are done by him. And there will
be no atrocities on anybody.
Oh people I am going to Allah very soon and it was given me
news of my death. So I give you, your religion and your
entrusted things, to surrender to Allah.”
Hazrat Abu Baker said that “The last sermon which was
given by the prophet and it was so much effective that the
waves of tears began falling from the eyes of the Muslims. And
there was prevailed such fear of Allah that one person told to
the prophet “Oh prophet of Allah your speech today was very
much effective, and it was similar to the speech of such person
26

who is giving from the world and he is giving his final advice. So
tell us for which thing you want to take our promise from us.”
The prophet told that “I advise you that always have fear of
Allah. And to act upon the orders of Allah upon its hearing.
Because after me one who lives, will see many differences that
there will find invocation in the religion so to keep away from
them. Because there is no such misguidance as innovation. In
such period of tribulations after me to follow compulsory the
method of my caliphs. And respect to my companions. And
among them, Allah made me a prophet. And they have true
belief upon me. And who followed my guidance. My period is
much better than all the time and after that the period of my
companions. And after them the period of the people who have
seen my companions. And after them, there will be born such
people who will have faith upon me apparently and they lose
regularly of performing the prayer.
1.They will involve in sensual desires.
2.They will leave my orders.
3.They will involve in the prohibitions of Islamic Shariah law.
4.They will make Islamic things as per their desires.
5.They will begin doing good deeds to show others.
6.They will begin swearing without necessity.
7.If there are no witnesses available then they will produce
witnesses as per demand.
8.They will not be returned entrusting things to concerned
persons.
9.They speak falsely for each and every matter.
10.Knowledge and tolerance will not be found in the people.
11.There will be prevailed ignorance and immodesty.
27

12.There will be no finding modesty and honesty.

Falsehood, defalcation, giving trouble to parents, boycotting

of the relatives, miserliness, jealousy, greed, adultery, bad
manners, to giving trouble to the neighboring people which
become the general system of the people. And they will be kept
away from the religion as the arrow will be going away from the
bow. ( From Qatbat Nashin page 410-414)

5. The dignity of our master

In the tradition reported by Fazil bin Abbas, it is mentioned
that in the final sermon the prophet told that “Now the time of
his leaving from the world has reached and if anybody has
caused trouble by me then he should stand and take from me
its revenge in this world.
Oh, the person if I have struck any whip on the backside of
any person then for such person my backside is present for
him. And he can take revenge on me. And if I have said abused
to any person then my personality is present. And he can take
revenge on me. If I have to snatch any wealth from anybody
then he can take his right from me. And you do not have fear in
this matter if you take revenge on me then I will not become
angry with you for this reason. And it is against my dignity.
( From Madarij Nabwat J 422).
The prophet of Allah was repeating the above phrase many
times so then Hazrat Akasha bin Mahaz (R.A.) was standing and
28

he said “Upon you may be sacrificing my parents if you did not

repeat this saying then I would not have stood.”
“Oh Prophet of Allah on the battle of Bader, I was with you.
And my she-camel was gone near to your she-camel. And due
to fondness and liking, I got down from my she-camel and went
very near to your side and I want to kiss your feet, but your
strike of the she-camel which struck on my waist. And now I
want to take revenge for it.” The prophet at that time was
given the order to Hazrat Bilal to go to the house of Hazrat
Fatima and bring his cane which is kept there. And he went to
the prophet’s house by keeping his hand on his head and saying
that, this is the dignity of our prophet that he is ready for the
revenge in the public gathering in the world. Hazrat Bilal went
to the house of Hazrat Fatima and knocked on the door and
said that he is Bilal and he came as per the order of the prophet
of Allah to collect his cane. As per tradition in Rouza Alshud
page number 77 it is mentioned that Hazrat Salman Farsi R.A.,
went to collect the cane which he wants to use in the revenge.
Then Hazrat Fatima R.A. told in the condition of worry that “Oh
Billal (R.A.) who is there such stone-hearted person and he
want to take his revenge from his prophet who is ill and that
person is happy. Then Hazrat Bilal has taken the cane silently in
his hand and was presented cane in the service of the prophet.
The ruler of Madina was given the cane in the hands of Hazrat
Akasha bin Mahaz (R.A.) in the presence of his companions.
Upon seeing this dreadful scene there was prevailed silence
on all sides. The lovers and moths of the prophet began
weeping and there was prevailed strange type of painful scene.
Hazrat Abu Baker (R.A.) and Hazrat Umar R.A. could not bear
29

this scene and by shivering, he stood and he said suddenly by

the tongue that “ Oh Aksaha we are present you can take
revenge from us instead of our master.”Then the prophet told
“Oh Abu baker I know well your status and intention of your
sincerity so sit down. This revenge belongs to me and I want to
bear the revenge.”
Then Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Taleb stood (R.A.) and told” Oh
Akasha in my presence it does not seem good in my heart you
will take revenge from the prophet of Allah. For this, my back
and my body are ready for it. So you take revenge on me.” Then
the prophet asked Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (R.A.) silent in this
matter. From the side of Imam Hasan and Imam Hussain who
could not bear the scene. So both of the princes could not bear
the scene. And they stood and said that “ Oh Akasha you know
well that how is close our relation with the grandfather. So we
could not able to tolerate this scene. So come on and have
taken revenge from us.”
Then he said that “Oh my sons you are the coolness of my
eyes and happiness of my heart. And you are dear sons of
Fatima and coolness of the eyes of Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Taleb
(R.A.) and you sit down I will bear the revenge myself.”
When all companions have become silent then the prophet
told “Oh Akasha my back is present and you can take revenge
from me. And then Akasha told him that “ When you have
struck upon my body then it was naked. And then the prophet
has immediately taken away the cloth from there. Upon seeing
this sad scene then there were loud and cry from the side of
the companions. When Akasha has seen the beauty and body
of the light of the prophet then sincerely ran towards him and
30

was kissed the backside of the prophet and he told that “Oh
prophet of Allah who will be such an unlucky person and he will
be happy by taking revenge from you.”There will sacrifice my
parents upon you oh prophet of Allah. I have fulfilled my desire
of the will and which I have got today. Oh, the prophet of Allah
whatever I have done and my aim in this matter was that to
touch my lips by your holy body so that due to holiness and
greatness I will get salvation from the fire of hell. “Oh, all
Muslims see this that how lucky is Akasha who got this dear
felicity.” Upon seeing the humility of the Akasha the ruler of
Madina told that “Oh persons if you want to see a person of the
paradise moving in this world then you can see Akasha.” Upon
this, there was no limit to the surprise of the companions in the
state of madness they began envy on his luck and they began
kissing his lips and eyes and they said “Oh Akasha
congratulation to you as you have got such a great position
with you. And you are getting glad tidings of the grace of the
heaven in this world.” (From Rouza Al-Shad page 1-77).

6.The preparation of the last journey

There is tradition said by Hazrat Abdulla bin Masood that “
The prophet told on the first Monday of the month of Rabbil
Awwal “ Oh persons the dowry is comfort for the people of
faith. And for infidel persons, it is regret and shame.”
After this, the prophet used to live in the condition of
fondness and liking of Allah. And Allah has decided to call back
his friend toward him with much respect and honor. So there
began to increase the severity of his illness condition day by
31

day. When there came the separation of great intercessor then

he has stayed in the room of Hazrat Aisha Siddiqua (R.A.).When
we went into his presence then upon seeing us he began
weeping and he said that “Oh my devoted persons who are
ready to lay down your life for me you are welcome and there
will befall always mercy of Allah upon all of you. And always
Allah keeps all of you in his protection. I advise for piety and
worship of Allah and I surrender you in Allah’s safety. And I
warn you from anger and fury of Allah.” Allah while addressing
says that “It means the house in another the world we have
declared to such persons who did live in the earth and did not
involve in trouble and pride.” Upon hearing these phrases the
companions have asked with him “ Oh prophet of Allah
whether you want to leave this world?.” And he said “Yes, there
comes a time of his leaving this world. And now there is his
likeness of Allah and toward Sidrat al-Muntaha (The Sidrat al-
Muntaha (Arabic: , romanized: Sidrat al-Muntahā, lit. 'Lote Tree
of the Farthest Boundary') is a large lote tree or Sidr tree that

one can pass), Jannatul Mawa (The name of a degree of

some is the seventh), empyrean, there is my attention and

· The companions of the prophet by weeping have asked with
him the details of his funeral rites. He told “ My funeral bath
will be given by my household persons. In the clothes which I
will be wearing or in Hulla Yemeni (a dress, consisting of a
waist-wrapper and a cloak for the whole body) the shroud
should be given to me. In one tradition it is mentioned that a
32

funeral bath may be given to him by Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Taleb
(R.A.). And Fazil bin Abbas (R.A.) and Usama bin Zaid who will
be pouring water for a funeral bath. We have asked the
prophet “Your honour who will lead his funeral prayer?.” Upon
hearing this our comforter and master began weeping. And he
said that “Oh my devotees after the funeral washing and
wearing the shroud to put my dead body in that room at the
side of the grave. And then you all leave the room for some
period of time. Among all first my funeral prayer will be
performed by my friend and my dear by angel Gabriel and after
Makail, and after Israfil and after that Israel will perform funeral
prayer along with their army. And after that, you all come there
in groups and perform my funeral prayers. The first funeral
prayer will be performed by persons in my household. And then
will perform by women. And then other persons will perform
funeral prayers. But it should be remembered and I give
warning to weeping or mourning by the women and they
should not give trouble to me in this matter. To convey my
salam to my companions who are not present here. And be
witness that in this matter to convey salam to everybody who
will enter in the fold of the Islam. And who will follow me in my
religion till the time of the day of the judgment?
Upon hearing this sad and unhappy last advice and
instruction there came tears in their eyes and in a weeping
voice they asked the prophet who will show them guidance
after him.? And he said “I am leaving two things among you.
And with them, there will be no failure to all of you. And among
them, one is the holy Quran and the other is a remembrance of
death. When you will face any problem then you return to the
33

Quran and Sunnah of the prophet. When your heart will

become heavy due to sins then take a lesson from conditions of
the death. And make soft your hearts. On the last day, the
prophet said God bye to all his wives one by one. And by
surrendering all of them to Allah and he has told them
important valuable advice.(Madarij Nabwat from page 20-430)

8.The prophet performed the last prayer

On Monday when the condition of the illness of the prophet
became decline and at the other side Hazrat Bilal announced
the prayer call of Fajr as per his practice. And for leading of the
Fajr prayer he was reached to the house of the prophet and he
said: “Assalam Alaikum Ya Rasool Salat Hazira.”
It means there is safety for you and there is ready
congregation prayer in the mosque. It means to come to the
mosque. Then on the other side, Hazrat Fatima Zahra was
replied “Oh Bilal the prophet is suffering very much due to the
severity of the illness. After some time Hazrat Bilal came to the
house of the prophet again and was called Assalam Alaikum Ya
Rasul Allah. When the prophet has heard the call of Bilal so
then he has said to him to come inside and said to him “ Oh
Bilal I am suffering very much due to the severity of the illness.
And did not able to come to the mosque so asked Abu, Baker,
to lead the prayer of the people.
Hazrat Bilal artlessly began weeping and began saying “Oh
such a problem and oh all hopes are gone away. Oh, the waist
was broken. It is good whether my mother was not given birth
to me.” And in such condition, Hazrat Bilal was reached to the
mosque and was given order of the prophet to Hazrat Abu
Baker Siddique R.A. to lead the prayer in the mosque. And
when Hazrat Abu baker was seen the empty arch of the
37

prophet he becomes very sad. As he was a soft-hearted person

so he was become unconscious and was fallen down on the
earth. And there was started loud and cry among the
companions of the prophet. When the prophet was heard this
loud and cry then he has asked Hazrat Fatima Zahra R.A. “Why
there is such loud and cry?.” Hazrat Fatima Zahra R.A. told that
“Oh my father all Muslims are upset and worry due to your
separation.” By hearing sounds of loud and cry and weeping
then there came tears in the eyes of the prophet of Allah. And
he has called Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Taleb R.A. and Hazrat Abdulla
Ibn Abbas R.A. and he went to the mosque by keeping his
hands on their shoulders. And lead the Fajr prayer on Monday
morning and which was the last prayer of his life in the world.
And he was given his sermon as follows.
“Oh persons after me Abu Baker will be my successor among
all of you. You hold piety and cleanliness compulsory. I am
going to separate from all of you. Today is my last day of stay in
this world and my first day in another world.

9.The meeting of the prophet with a great friend (Rafiq al-ala )
and the companions

Allah has given the order to angel Izrail to go in the good
shape in the presence of his friend and take away with much
softness his soul from his body. And first of all, ask permission
38

to enter the house. And if there will be given permission then

enter into the house otherwise return back from there.
As per the order of the Almighty Allah, the angel of death Izrail
went in the shape of Bedouin to the house of the prophet and
while standing at the door he has called “Assalam Alaikum oh
prophet of Allah, you are the owner of the prophet-hood and
messenger. And if there is permission then I come into the
house. The dear daughter of the prophet upon hearing the call
she said “ Oh person of Allah now there is a time of suffering of
the severe illness of the prophet and there is no chance of
meeting with him at this time. The angeL of death was asked
again permitted to enter the house and he said “Islam Alaikum
oh prophet of Allah and his household members. Whether can
he entered the house.? Then by hearing the call the prophet of
the intercessor told Hazrat Fatima who is there at the door of
the house.”? And she told him that “ Dear father there is one
Bedouin on the door. I have informed him about your health
condition him but he has seen at my side that I began shivering
of my body due to the horror of his look. And my heart began
fearing and there is started shivering in my shoulders and my
color of the body became pale. The prophet of Allah told her
that “ Oh light of my eyes and you do not know who is that.”?
And he who will take away all tastes, and breakers of all wishes
and desires, and destroy the groups, maker of the orphan of
the sons, and doer of destroying of the houses and habitations.
And who will increase the habitation of the graves. And maker
women as widows and harmer of the hearts and livers. Oh, my
dear daughter does not fight with him.”
39

Upon hearing this Hazrat Fatima Zahara R.A. began loud and
cry and oh it is sad and very much worry that the last
messenger of Allah is living with us. And there is fallen upon
them a mountain of grief and sadness. And by that time
prophet told, “Oh angel of death enter into the house with
fondness.”
The angel of the death came inside and he said salam to the
prophet with much respect and honour. The prophet was given
a reply of salam to him and asked him “Whether he came to
see or collect his soul.”? And he told him that “ He came to visit
him but if there will be his permission then he will collect his
soul. And if there will be no permission then he will return back
from here. Because Allah has given you the option to live in the
world or like the death.” At that time there was no grief with
the prophet of Allah except grief of his nation. And he said by
his tongue many times my nation, my nation. The angel of
death told him that “ To surrender them to Allah and give them
to the mercy of Allah. Then he told “ Oh angel of death there is
too much love with my nation. And due to grief of my nation,
there is a pain in my liver in this matter and people of my
nation are sinners and God knows what will happen to them?.”
And he told him that” To give them in the safety of Allah. And
due to your blessing, there will be bestowed full of the mercy of
Allah upon them. Then he told him that “ It is right I want to see
the sight of my great friend.”
Then the angel of the death was able to understand that
prophet is willingly ready to leave this mortal world. He told
him “Oh Izrail tell me where is angel Gabriel ?. And he told him
he is at the first sky and along with all angels he is engaged in
40

mourning work. Upon hearing all these details the liver of

Hazrat Fatima Zahra was hearting and breaking due to the
separation of the prophet. And she was weeping very much and
at last, due to weeping, he was fallen on the earth due to
unconsciousness. After some time Hazrat Gabriel came there
and he was sat at the head side of the prophet. And he told him
that there is no doubt that Allah conveyed salam to you. And he
is asking how are you.?” He told him that “ He is in many
difficulties and whether you do not know that there comes the
time of his leaving this world.”?He told him that “My master I
known all details in this matter. He asked with him” Oh Gabriel
in the presence of Allah what gentleness and miracles which
will be available there.?” He told that “ There is preparation to
welcome you and there opened gates of the seven skies. And
angels are there standing in rows in every sky in anxiety to
welcome you and to see your holy soul. As well as Houries of
the heaven is there with much décor and ornamentation. Upon
hearing this prophet thanked Allah and done praise and
admiration of Allah for this matter.
Then he told that “Oh Gabriel this is the last day to meet you
and to see family members in this world. You give any glad
tiding. Due to this conversation, all wives of the prophet began
weeping and their hearts began affected very badly.
Then the angel Gabriel told that “Among his all prophets
Allah will enter you first in the heaven. And among all nations,
your nation will first enter into heaven.”

10.The ruler of Madina and angel of the death
41

He told that “ Now he is happy. Oh, the angel of death takes
away my soul from my body.” Then the angel of death proceeds
toward him with much respect and began taking his soul. And
when it was reaching near navel then Hazrat Fatima Zahra told
him “Oh my father if this is perpetual separation then tell me
where I can find you on the day of the judgment.?”
He told her “ Oh coolness of my sight I will find on the water
reservoir of Kauser where I will give drinking water to my
nation there.” And Hazrat Fatima Zahra told him that “ If she
could not find him there then where she would search him.” He
told that “Oh coolness of my eyes see me at the place of the
weighbridge of the deeds where I will be praying for the weight
of the deeds of the scale of my nation. Also if I will not be found
there then I will be available on the pathway of paradise.” Oh
my Lord safeguard my nation from the hell and cross the
pathway of paradise as soon as possible.”
It is mentioned one tradition that when there was the
condition of difficulty of the death upon him then he was
looked at the companions and his wives with love and there
came tears in his eyes. And he said, “ Oh Allah there is the
severity of the difficulty of death upon me so make easy it upon
me.”

Then there were was came thinking about the nation and he
told “Oh Izrail the difficulty of death is very hard and my nation
is weak so how does it bears this difficulty?. So do that
whatever there will be the difficulty of death that all such
should try and end upon me. Whatever force you want and to
42

take away my soul by applying the same for me and share of

the difficulty of death of my nation and may all be given to me.
And do not give trouble to my nation.”
The angel of death Izrail told him that “Oh prophet of Allah
you have satisfaction in this matter those who will be honest
then I will take away their soul easily from their bodies like
smelling of the fragrance of the rose flowers.”
The master of mercy and the intercessor of the judgment day
was happy very in this matter and then he was advised three
times for the payment Zakat and performance of the prayers
regularly. And then he has seen at angel Gabriel but he has
turned his face from him. So the prophet was asked with him
whether do you not want to see him.? He said “Oh messenger
of Allah who will be such hard-hearted person to see the
condition of your face of light in the difficulty of the death.”
And when soul near the chest then at that time the chair and
empyrean of Allah began shaking and then soul left from the
body of the prophet. And all sides there was spread fragrance
and then spread darkness in the world. There was an eclipse for
the sun and moon for this reason. The prophets began
weeping.

                       11. Who was left from the world.?

Oh, Muslims who that person who has left this mortal world by
leaving us in the condition of weeping and mourning. And all
43

the earth was become, an orphanage. Oh, chief of the prophets

who left the companions in the condition of weeping and
mourning in this world. Oh, this prophet who was given an
invitation to the infidels and bearing the weight of troubles and
yes he has faced difficulties.

By smiling, he has faced the difficulties of infidels
But he has continued his work on the propagation
How hard you have done the mission work of the Islam
All-time there is many blessing upon the holy prophet

Oh, cruel persons some time you have pressed the head of
the prophet and due to which there was change his of face
color. Some time some persons have thrown tripe of the camel
on his shoulder. And sometimes there was a rain of the stones
upon him and at someplace, his candles were filled with his
blood. And somewhere he was hearing abused by the persons.
At some places, there were thrown thorns on his way. And at
some places, there were thrown thorns on his way and dung
was put on his pure body. And in some places, there was
martyred his holy tooth. Even after suffering such problems, he
has rewarding supplications to the enemies of the crocodile's
type. Oh, the master who will hear abused by infidels and pray
for them and who left this world. The sky was broken and stars
were fallen on the earth. The life of the universe left and made
us orphans.
When our master was born then his father left this mortal
world and still not grown up but his mother also died. And after
growing some little his grandfather also left him alone in the
44

world. When he was grown up some more than his uncle

Hazrat Abi Taleb was also left this world. When he was married
then his dear wife Hazrat Khadji (R.A.) left him alone in the
world and as well as his daughters also left him alone in the
world. And after that, there began cruelties and difficulties of
the infidels upon him.

                            12.The love of the nation

There is no grief of the father’s death, and there is no care of
the mother’s death, there is no grief of the grandfather, there is
no grief of uncle, and there is no grief of dear wife as well as
there is no grief of the daughter. But there is grief and worry
for him about his sinner nation. And he has prayed with Allah
“Oh Allah my creator forgive my nation.” There was a worry
when he was born, and when he was grown up some more in
his life then began worrying about his nation. Oh, such master
who used to wake up in the nights and used to weep for the
sake of the nation. And some time who used to go the
mountains and used to weep for the nation there. And
sometimes he used to go to the desert and sometime in the
caves and sometime in the bazaars where he will weep for the
nation. Oh, Prophet of Allah where you have gone by making us
orphan?. And now you will pray for our salvation. And who will
stop us from sins?. And who will go for us in the caves and
weep for us?. Now who will take care of our difficulties and
problems and who will give judgment in our disputes and
problems.?

45

13.Oh prophet help us

Oh, prophet for the sake of Allah helps us. And have mercy
upon our worse condition. Now our condition became like non-
Muslims. After you nation was divided into different groups.
Oh, Prophet of Allah, Muslims have neglected your gift of Maraj
night it means five-time prayers and our faces have become
similar to the Jews. And at the present time, there are
prohibitions upon your Sunnah.
Oh, Umar Faruq (R.A.)Muslim courts have become centers of
false witnesses. To the day your decision of the sword which
was become business of monetary dealings. And at many
places, there are thieves and dacoits. And there is illegal killing
and murder among the Muslim nation.
Oh Ali Murtaza (R.A.) at present there is no courage among
us like you. And we are becoming like a wet cat before non-
Muslims. And after you power of the faith was no more with us.
Oh, Hazrat Usman Ghani (R.A.) today in spite of having
wealth in place of generosity there comes enmity among us. In
the army made by you in which there were change all rules and
regulations. And everywhere there were established centers of
adultery, wine, and gambling. And politics became full of filth
and dirtiness.
Oh, the prophet at the present time your nation is involved in
such sins that for which even Christians and Jews are ashamed
and regret in this matter. Today mosques are deserted and
cinema halls are habituated. In the place of the Quranic
recitation, films songs are taken their place. Oh, the prophet of
46

Allah there is so much need of your supplications for us in this

matter.

Oh last prophet there is a time of your prayers
There is a strange time now on your dear nation
The grand religion which you brought in Arabia
Which is in worse condition in the foreign place

14.The funeral rites and the last sight

Upon passing away of the holy soul there was hesitation
among the companions how to be given a funeral bath to the
prophet.? And by that time there was prevailed condition of
sleepiness due to grief and worry upon Hazrat Abu Baker R.A.)
and in such condition, he was heard one invisible call in which it
was said: “Oh giver of the life upon the prophet to give funeral
bath to the prophet along with his dress.” So sleeves were cut
and folded up to his shoulders and as per the method of
ablution, the first two holy hands were washed. And then
Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Taleb (R.A.) touched and help by his chest to
the prophet. Hazrat Abdulla bin Abbas, Hazrat Fazil, Hazrat
Aqtam who were helping him in this matter, and Hazrat Saqran
and Hazrat Asama who were pouring water and then after this
the prophet was given shroud and which covered him in three
pieces. And then the dead body was placed on the cot which
was with strings. Then as per his advice first the angels prayed a
funeral prayer and after that persons have performed funeral
prayer in the groups then general persons and from Ansar
people have prepared the grave. Then Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Taleb
47

(R.A.) and Hazrat Aqtam have put the dead body in the grave
and Hazrat Saqran has placed a mat of fiber dates in the grave
and he also put some bricks under the head side.
Hazrat Fazil has said that I have seen sight of the light of the
face of the prophet in the grave. And he found the movement
of the lips of the prophet. And taken my ears to listen what he
was saying then was able to know that he was saying “Oh my
merciful God forgive my nation.”
I have told this matter to the companions of the prophet. And
upon hearing this all companions have remembered prophets’
affection and mercy and they began weeping in a helpless
condition. And the prophet was buried under the weeping
condition of the companions.
There is a tradition of Hazrat Ibn Abbas that he said “ Oh
Muslims your prophet was born on Monday. And he has left
this mortal world on Monday. He was migrated to Madina on
Monday from Makkah and Makkah was conquered on Monday.
And Quran’s this following verse which was sent down on
Monday

“This day the disbeliever's despair of prevailing against your
religion, so fear them not, but fear Me (Allah)! This day have I
perfected for you, your religion and fulfilled My favour unto
you, and it hath been My good pleasure to choose Islam for you
as your religion. (Surah 5, Ayah 3) “

The prophet died on Monday on 12h Rabbil Awwal in the
year 11th Hegira and corresponding on 8th June in the year
48

632 AD, in Medina, Saudi Arabia, and the prophet left this
world to meet Allah in another world.
So Somwar which is also called Monday which has much and
great connection with the prophet of Allah.
May Allah give to me and all Islamic brothers the true love of
the prophet of Allah and to give divine help to us so that we can
spend our life according to the Holy Quran and Sunnah (the
practice of the holy practice) of the prophet. (Ameen)
