On his official visit, the former King Faisal ibn Abdul Aziz of
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia went to the United Kingdom. On
the dinner table, there were nice spoons and forks. When the
feast was started, all guests used spoons and knives. The king of
Saudi Arabia ate his dinner by hand as per the Sunnah practice
of the prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) there.
Upon finishing the dinner, some press reporters asked him the
reason for not using a spoon and forks by him.The king said,
"Why should he use such spoons and forks that are now in his
mouth and that will be found in the mouths of other people
before? And these fingers belong to him and will always go into
his mouth. So for this reason, I will prefer to use my fingers in
this matter.”
One time, there came a delegation from America for a visit to
the Saudi Arabian Kingdom. And they stayed for one week in
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. And during the period of the visit,
the delegation observed peace and security in the whole of Saudi
Arabia. And they feel much concern about the penalty of theft
by cutting the hands of the culprits. They feel that it is an excess
against human rights. The delegation was able to know that
there would be severe punishment for the lashes in public
places. As a matter of fact, there will be no thinking or
imagination about such severe punishment in America. There
was an appointment of the king with the press delegation of
America. One press reporter has asked the king why he has
enforced such severe punishments in the kingdom. And which
are against human rights. By this hard and touching question of
the press reporter, there was no worry on his face by the king?.
And he has heard the question with calmness and patience, and
there is no expression of worry on his face. The question of the
reporter was finished, and then the king was silent for some
seconds, so for this reason, the reporter thought that he had
made the king answerless in this matter.
After some time, the King of Saudi Arabia asked, “Whether you
all brought your wives during your visit to Saudi Arabia?" And
some of them said, “Yes.” The king told them that the visit
program would end after some days. You all visited the gold
market with your wives and asked them to purchase gold
ornaments as per their will and wishes. I will pay the bill for
gold ornaments in the market from my personal account. And
after this, you visit roads and lanes in the cities independently in
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. And for such ornaments, nobody
will not look for them with their bad eyes. And after two days,
all of you will return to America. Whether all ladies, by wearing
the jewelry, will reach their homes safely and securely.? Upon
hearing this question of the king, all press reporters began seeing
the faces of their other fellow reporters in this matter. When the
king asked them again, they told them to reach the houses safely
and securely from the airport, and by leaving this matter, we can
say that we are unable to go out of the airport safely and
securely.
The king of Saudi Arabia told them that the severe punishment
in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a reply to your worries in this
matter. You have given a reply to your question in this matter.
