Ucubamba Waste Water Treatment Plant

 Introduction

According to the (WHO), Cuenca is considered one of the cleanest cities in the
country. The present field trip aim was learnt about the process involving in a
waste water treatment plant.

Discussion

On April 12th we visit the plant located in Ucumbamba, Cuenca. The plant treats
the domestics waste water by means of physical, chemical and biological process.

First at all, the water received pass through physical process to extract big objects.
Secondly chemical process clears the water and the biological eliminate
microorganisms. Lastly the processed water returns to its natural river bed.

As well, the company ETAPA carry out programs with the communities to raise
awareness in neighborhood and school. This trip was succeeded for the knowledge
acquired for our personal and profesional life.

Conclusion

Cuenca is a good example to the rest of the cities due to appropriate manage of
their wastes. From my perspective, I recommended whole of provincial
government’s should focus on care our natural resources which benefits people and
environmental health.
