Profile - General product information

Hostapon® SCI products are mild, high-foaming, anionic surfactants available

from Clariant.

Hostapon® SCI products are highly suited for use in syndet bars, combo bars,
liquid soaps and a variety of other personal care products. Hostapon® SCI
produces a creamy and abundant lather that cleanses gently and leaves the skin

soap film or residue like ordinary soaps. Hostapon® SCI 65 C pre-blended with Rothausstrasse 61
stearic acid (ca. 65% active). It is based on purified coconut oil and or purified 4132 Muttenz
Switzerland
palm oil/ palm kernel oil, a natural and renewable resource.

The following are examples of the many personal care products that can benefit
from the mild cleansing properties of Hostapon® SCI 65 C:

Syndet Bars
With its excellent lathering characteristics, mildness, and skin feel
effects, Hostapon ® SCI 65 C is the detergent of choice for syndet bars, in
which no conventional soap is used.

Combo Bars
In combo bars, or combo bbars, in which soap and detergent products are
formulated together, Hostapon ® SCI 65 C enhances the lathering properties of
the bar in hard water. Use of sodium cocoyl isethionate in combo bars also
improves their lime soap dispersion properties, thus producing a rich lather that
rinses away readily and leaves little soap residue.

Liquid Cleansers
Hostapon ® SCI 65 C contributes its excellent lathering, mildness and soft
skin afterfeel to a variety of liquid personal care products, such as liquid
soaps, shampoos, facial cleansers, and shower gels. Products can be
formulated to achieve either a clear or a pearlescent appearance, using either
Hostapon® SCI 85 or Hostapon® SCI 65.

In addition to its characteristic mildness, Hostapon® SCI 65 C exhibits excellent

performance in areas such as foam density, foam stability, lime soap dispersion
and surface activity.

Storage
At room temperature, Hostapon ® SCI 65 C is solid, which may form cake-like
texture on storage in high humidity conditions. Protect from exposure to cold and
excess moisture during storage and transport. If these products stuck together,
please tap or gently shake the container so that the material becomes free flowing.
