Submission:
ƍ Essays (PDF/MS Word format) would be submitted online by uploading to the Competition
homepage via (www.one.org/standtogether)
ƍ Entries must be original and unpublished. Sources must be referenced appropriately.
ƍ Artwork entries(JPEG/PNG) would be scanned and uploaded to the competition homepage
ƍ Judges will make allowances for those for whom English is not their native language. The winner
will be based on the subjective decision of the judging panel.
ƍ There will be one winner in each category. (Essay and Artwork)
ƍ The winning entries will be published online on ONE in Africa’s website and social handles.
The Prizes
The prize for each winner will be:
ƍ a 13 inch 2020 Macbook Pro or 2020 Ipad Pro 12.9 inch (winner will be given the option to choose one)
ƍ a bag of ONE Merchandise
ƍ a virtual meet up with one of the musical talents featured on the ONE Stand Together Anthem.
ƍ The educational institution of award winners will be presented with Apple iMac retina 4k computer
Also, Top five essays (finalists) for each category will be profiled on ONE’s blog and social media
channels. Finalists will also win a bag of ONE Merch each.
All winners are responsible for paying any applicable income taxes and any and all other costs and
expenses not listed above. Any prize details not specified above will be determined by ONE in its sole
discretion. A prize may not be transferred and must be accepted as awarded. A winner may not request
cash or a substitute prize; however, ONE reserves the right to substitute a prize (or component thereof)
with another prize (or component thereof) of equal or greater value if the prize (or component thereof)
is not available for any reason, as determined by ONE in its sole discretion.
ƍ There is no alternative prize or cash alternative and prizes cannot be transferred to any other
person. We may alter arrangements or prizes should this be deemed necessary by us. Prizes are
not transferable.
ƍ The decision of the judging panel is final, and at its sole discretion. No correspondence or
discussion will be entered into by us in relation to that decision.
ƍ Winners will be announced on or about August 6th, 2021.
ƍ The winners will be notified (by email, post or phone, using contact details provided with the
entry) within 21 days of the closing date.
ƍ We will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winners. If any winner cannot be contacted
or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 10 days of the announcement date. ]ONE
reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the eligible entries
that were received before the closing date.
ƍ We may ask you to provide documentary proof of your identity and address before awarding the
prize. The use of a false or invalid name or address will disqualify you from receiving any prize.
General
ƍ We are not liable for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by you taking part or not being
able to take part in this Competition, or from being unable to claim your prize
ƍ In unforeseen circumstances, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical
problem, or any circumstances beyond Sponsor’s control, including act of god, war, government
regulation, disaster, strikes or civil disorder, we may alter, amend or foreclose the competition
without prior notice. We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. The Competition is
void wherever prohibited by law.
ƍ ONE reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify and seek damages from any individual
it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Competition or to be
acting in violation of these terms and conditions or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner.
Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition may be a
violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, ONE reserves the right
to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by ONE to
enforce any of these terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
ƍ In the event of a dispute as to any online entry, the authorized account holder of the e-mail
address used to enter will be deemed to be the participant. Except where prohibited, you agree
that any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the
Competition or any prize awarded shall be resolved exclusively by the appropriate court located
in South Africa and which jurisdiction’s law will apply. All issues and questions concerning the
construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these terms and conditions, your rights
and obligations, or the rights and obligations of ONE in connection with the Competition, shall be
governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of South Africa.
The Competition is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibit-
ed. Your entry must not, as determined by ONE in its sole discretion: (i) violate the rights of others, in-
cluding copyright, trade secret, license, patent, trademark, privacy, publicity or any other right; (ii) con-
tain defamatory statements; (iii) include threats to any person, place, business, or group; (iv) include
instructions or activities that could cause harm or injury (v) be obscene or indecent; (vi) depict any risky
behavior; (vii) contain any material or content that is libelous or in any way unlawful; or (viii) contain
depictions of any individuals who have not granted permission to appear in the entry. In the event ONE
chooses to display entries, ONE also reserves the right to refuse to post any entry for any reason. ONE
reserves the right in its sole discretion to supplement or make changes to these terms and conditions
without notice. ONE also reserves the right in its sole discretion to interpret the rules of this contest in
any manner, and such interpretation shall be binding on any entrant and entry.
