Dear Dr. Alaniz,

We are emailing you in regards to the Micro-Credentialing for Teaching Excellence project to
give you an update on the progress we have made and a few adjustments that we may need as we
continue.

Our team is making great progress through the milestones we established at the beginning of the
project. We have purposed ourselves to stay on track through our weekly meetings where we
have checked on the progress of tasks we had split up to work in our own time as well as tasks
that we have worked on collaboratively online. Whether it be our project purpose, the badge list,
or anything in between, you can have confidence that our project is moving forward at a good
pace and being built with excellence.

As we progressed through the project, our team needed to change two milestones. For the first,
we extended our deadline by a week to determine a finalized list of micro-credentials and
corresponding badges. This allowed us to more thoroughly connect the badges and confirm that
they would best support HBU’s vision and instructor growth. The second change was the
extension of the deadline for completing badge designs to the seventh week. The team felt it
more prudent to complete all the micro-credentials and badges so that the designs could be
designed in a more cohesive manner. As a result, the project has a more continuous theme
throughout which will make a stronger final product.

As we begin working on the final draft of this project, we would appreciate it if you could
provide us with your impression of the project so far and any considerations you have on how it
can be improved. Whether it be about the content and design of the badges, the focus of the
project, or anything that you have a question or a concern about, we would so appreciate having
your voice be a part of the final product.

Thank you for all of your time and support in this badging system. We have appreciated this
opportunity to work together with you on this project to create something that will have a great
