3. HOW TO: DESCRIBE PEOPLE AND WHAT WE’LL DO

I’ve been to Italy before. We did sightseeing in Venice, Milan, and Toscana. Around 2009 I
went there, so excited to be honest. My cousin, although she lived there, was also quite
eager to have us there. Our trip was kind of cheap, I mean, no planes involved, just driving
long hours, and taking trains when necessary. Did you know that in Rome you ought to
acquire tickets to ride even buses? Sometimes we had to drop the luggage in trains and
wait to pick it up weeks later while we rode on buses because it was less expensive.

What I remember the most was the Roman Coliseum. As you might know, it is older than
the Arc De Triumph in Paris, but it is as ancient as nearby villages. I remember vividly the
smell and brown colors of the ruins. However, I must admit when I got in, I could barely
understand where the gladiators fought or where the animals were kept. Despite the
confusion, the building is one of the most respected and cared about. The guides are the
smartest people, they know plenty of languages and have great memory…

Bad things? Desserts were too expensive. It is much cheaper a gelato than a brownie. Also
cocktails were far harder to find; also, it’s true, Romans are a little rude, but you know,
foreigners have stupid questions too ….
