The hate you give

The words Thug life in the book the hate you give has a important meaning. The author uses the

words as the title because it means whatever society does in life, it can come back and hit them at

another time. Throughout the whole book, Starr is fighting for what is right and she gets a lot of

feedback in return of what she did. The way this is used in society is that if a politician does

something wrong, it will come back at them later. Every decision that we do in life can come

back to haunt us later on in life. The term “Thug Life” was used by Tupac who Starr and Khalil

listen to a lot. The author wanted to make that word the title so that everyone wants to know

what message the book is trying to convey. The author wants everyone to know about current

issues today on what is happening with these stories of cops killing people and they not getting

punished properly for it. This book is trying to bring awareness to as many people as possible so

everyone knows can make a difference. The book’s title is telling us what the book is trying to

tell us.
