LIST OF COMPONENTS

Arduino Mega 2560 R3. The core for the entire system. It enables the system to select

the type and quantity of medicines, to dispense and to detect medicines that are in

blister-packed, or in tablet with the codes embed on the controller itself.

Arcade Pushbuttons. It allows to select the type and quantity of medicines by simply

pressing on itself. There are 5 main buttons attached to the controller. 2 for the

medicine type – Lagundi and Paracetamol, and 3 for the medicine quantity – 2 blisters

and 1 tablet. It has also a 10kΩ pullup resistor attached to the ground of each buttons

for precise selection.

L298n Motor Driver. The actuator for the entire system. It is responsible for moving

and controller DC motor for dispensing purposes. There are two motor drivers – blister

and tablet, and each motor driver is comprised of 2 DC motors.

DC motor. The output material for the entire system. Within a continuous circular

motion, it helps to dispense blisters or tablets.

20x4 Liquid Crystal Display with I2C. It displays the remaining medicines in

accordance to its medicine type, blister or tablet. The dimensions of an LCD is 20x4,

and it is attached through an I2C IC to have minimum pin attached to the controller

itself.

LED. The indicator whenever the system is being started.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. The simulation of the circuit must be on an actual representation with real

components attached on a prototype.

2. An ultrasonic sensor must be attached throughout the system with a versatile

purpose to detect how many medicines – blister or tablet, in a system and to refill

the medicines once a specific type is empty. Advance algorithms are required to

satisfy the process.

3. Higher-end LCD display is recommended to use to project clearly the display the

type and quantity of a specific medicine for the convenience of the user.

4. Other non-prescriptive medicines must be added for the need of the people.

Nevertheless, it depends on the specific health center whenever they have a

specific medicine type. IT must have additional buttons, DC motors, and sensors

embed on a machine.
