Conclusions
Both Emulsogen LCN 118 and LCN 158 tested in med PVC 42% paint shows improved wetting
performance and stability compared to Competitor 1
Emulsogen LCN 118 also offer a lower pour point and quick thawing compared to Competitor 1.
Emulsogen LCN 118 gives a lower D 90 particle size after storage stability. This suggest both wetting
plus dispersion power and hence partial dispersing agent replacement could be possible and hence
cost reduction.
In addition, Emulsogen LCN 118 offers the following benefits compared to Compettor 1
- Doesn’t impact colour properties
- Shows no separation and syneresis after storage stability
- Shows controlled opacity
- Improved scrub resistance.
- lower foaming tendency during processing and application.
- Control wetting property confirmed by contact angle and hence comparable adhesion performance of
film.
Lower CMC of Emulsogen LCN 118 makes it suitable for emulsion polymer application.
