Open flow unified architecture

Open flow is underling switching hardware (both packet and circuit switching) is controlled via
software that runs in decoupled automated control. This control has three parts

1. Network Operating System

2. Open flow protocol- provide access to the data plane switch and their internal flow table
3. Network applications – run network operating system

Conclusion

 A unified Open Flow enabled packet and circuit network architecture that has the
potential to enable and accelerate innovations in core networking leading to significantly
reduced Capex and Opex.
 The development of protocol continued
 Simple proof of network concept presented
 Open issues and future directions have also been highlighted
