Many governments think that economic progress is the most important goal. Some people, however,
think that other types of progress are equally important for our country, discuss both views and give
your own opinion.
Over the past centuries, hundreds of nations have been formed and economy, development has always
been a top priority. However, some people believe that focusing entirely on economy would not be an
optimal choice, but rather other aspects of the country is also important. In my opinion, I believe that
economy, medical care, social welfare and education are as equally important as each other. On the one
hand, it is understandable that economic growth is of utmost important. Ever since the start of human
civilization, trade has been a primary form of purchase. For example, farmers can trade food for cat,
cattle, cloth, fruits, etc. And because of this trade behavior, most people are able to meet the living
standards of to provide enough food for the family and sustain themselves over the years. Over time, that
trade became much more monetary when paper notes were first invented. And since then, money has
become a crucial resources in any form of trade. Therefore, economic development in recent time can be
a priority in many governments. If a nation's economy is underdeveloped, then it would have problems
solving the other issues, for example, improving education or providing health care for its residents.
Economic Development is one of the most crucial factor within a nation's system. If a country cannot
make money or does not make an income, then a country will soon be disbanded and its residents must
took refuge in foreign nations. So money plays a very important role. Therefore, economic progress is on
the top priority. If any other developments were to be made, there has to be resource and money is the
resource that we're talking about. However, on the other hand, healthcare, education and social welfare
can increase the conveniences in life for the citizens, let us start with education. As we all know,
education provides knowledge and experience and skill to the younger generation in which they will
become the future workforce. Therefore, education can be considered as an important aspect. Without
education, a country cannot develop or teach its younger generation and in the future, there will be a
shortage of Human Resources. If a country is in low education, for example, in some African regions,
then this the overall society there is always underdeveloped, and they cannot reach a higher status of
privilege and life. Second is health care and social welfare. As we all know, health is the most important
resource to each individual without health, a man can hardly carry out any task. Therefore, hospitals,
medication should be taken priority. If a country has good health care, for example, in Canada, then its
residents can live a more healthier, a healthier and more stable life without worrying too much about
being affected by a disease or even death. Social Welfare also plays an important role because it improve
the living standards of people. Social Welfare can include unemployment, salary, or co payment for the
elderly people who have retired. These little conveniences contribute greatly to the lives of the citizens.
And although they may seem trivial, and inconsiderable, if these changes were applied to a country, for
example, in Singapore, then the living standards of the people can be increased drastically. In conclusion,
I agree that economic development is an important goal. However, it should not take priority over other
aspects.
