Dear students,

Welcome to this very first week of our English course.

The first thing you need to do is to upload your profile picture. Then, you must read the Guía
Didáctica very carefully. Once you have finished reading, please go to Foro Aceptación Guía
Didáctica. Your participation in that forum will be understood as your signature accepting the
course regulations.

It is very important for your teacher to know a little bit about you, and it is important for you to
know who your virtual classmates are, that is why you must introduce yourself in the Foro de
Presentación.

Remember this course starts today (August 10th) and ends October 7th, so, it is more intensive
than an in-situ course and it requires a lot of commitment and dedication, please make sure you
respect your schedule to study English.

The aim of this course is to:

understand and produce texts and conversations about climate and climate change, wonders of
the world and travel plans, using different types of texts such as reports, descriptive essays and
role-playing, to communicate ideas orally and in writing, according to their performance level.

In order to accomplish this, we will perform different tasks and activities.

IMPORTANT: Apreciados estudiantes: De acuerdo a las directrices del Centro de Idiomas en

relación a la evaluación de las asignaturas mediadas por la virtualidad, los estudiantes deben
completar todos los contenidos de las semanas donde hay prueba evaluativa para poder abrir el
examen (cuando es en línea) o bien las instrucciones (cuando es remoto).

After doing all the exercises, activities and tasks for this week, students will be able to provide
information about social groups, lifestyles and past events.

Keep in mind that you also have a face-to-face tutoring, that will be held every Wednesday at
20:00 in this link: Unirse a reunión de Microsoft Teams. This is not a mandatory activity.

Remember that, in order to have access to the practice and evaluative activities, you have to do all
the activities in the platform.

For week 1 task, you must create a short videoclip (see instructions below).
