Summary:
Martin Yip Josh Wheaton and Jeffrey Radisson Ayisha

God’s not dead puts together stories from multiple characters about their points of view

on faith, culture and beliefs. The movie starring 3 main storylines about Josh, Ayisha and Martin

but mainly focuses on Josh.

Josh Wheaton, a college student attends a class on philosophy. His professor, Jeffrey

Radisson requires his students to write a statement saying "God is dead" and never existed. Josh

speaks up and refuses to write the statement due to his faith to God. The professor challenged

him to defend his beliefs and he must prove the existence of God or else he will fail him. Thus,

leading to a series of debate presentations between himself and the professor.

Reflection:

The movie was amazing. I was happy on how an individual can show the importance of

being brave and standing up for one’s faith. At the same time, it triggered my thoughts about

why one could hate God to the point of not believing in him, as seen on professor Radisson. It

made me realize a lot of things. After watching the movie, it strengthened my faith to God. I

became more curious about the beliefs and cultures of other religions and how these many

different religions were made.

The part of the movie that inspired me the most was when Ayisha’s father disowned her

for listening to bible verses and teachings. It inspired me because she still believed in her faith

after all the happenings in her life. This just proves that Christianity is not a religion but it is a

relationship, a relationship with a Savior that will love you regardless of what you’ve done and

where you came from. In the movie, it was seen that even in your most loneliness of times He is

always there to give piece in your heart and soul like what He did to Ayisha’s life.

If I have given a chance to prove that God is not dead, I will tell the people all the

blessings He has given to my life. My mother died when I was very little. Even though that

happened, God has still blessed me to have a very responsible father whom raised and fed us
alone. This just means that, God gave us problems or situations that can lead us to giving up life

but God just tests us if we can overcome it for more abundant blessings to come.
