2 Demo Description
This scenario demonstrates Customer Returns Process, starting from a returns order to processing of the returned
material inside the warehouse. It starts with creation of a Returns order, and in turn a Returns delivery in ECC. This is
replicated in EWM for processing. The delivery is unloaded, and product is moved to Quality Inspection. If okayed, the
product can be put away. If not okayed (as shown in the demo flow), the product is moved to scrap zone and is
scrapped through a scrap order.

Customer Support/Sales executive creates Returns sales order and in turn Return delivery, in ECC system.
The Return Delivery gets replicated in EWM system to create an Inbound delivery in EWM.
As the Inbound delivery is received ‘In Yard’, warehouse tasks are created to unload the delivery and quality
inspection for the returned product is triggered.
As the delivery is ‘Unloaded’, warehouse tasks are created to move the product to inspection area.
Post movement to inspection workstation, usage decision is made to either accept the goods or to reject, if found not
okay.

15 STORY FLOW
The story flow demonstrates the end to end process for return order processing in EWM system starting with Return
order, followed by Return delivery created in ECC system and processing the goods in the warehouse using EWM
system.
Customer Support/Sales executive creates Returns sales order and in turn a Return delivery, in the ECC system. The
Return Delivery gets replicated in EWM system to create an Inbound delivery in EWM.
As the Warehouse operator confirms the arrival of the Inbound delivery ‘In Yard’, warehouse tasks are created to
unload the delivery and quality inspection for the returned product is triggered. The delivery is ‘Unloaded’ and
warehouse tasks are created to move the product to inspection area. The products are moved to inspection workstation
and usage decision is made to either accept the goods or to reject, if found not okay.
Automatically follow-up tasks are created to move the accepted product to final destination bin or to move the rejected
goods to scrap zone. The demo takes you through a rejection path.
The product is moved to the scrap zone. An Outbound delivery order for Scrapping is created and the product is
scrapped against the same, with financial responsibility of the scrapped goods to be taken up by the customer.

automatically – one for putaway (IB03) of the final product and one for quality inspection (QIS).
The warehouse task to move the product to the Quality Inspection workstation is open.
And the final putaway task, to move the product to the final destination bin, is “waiting” (planned), so as to
move the product only if the QI is positive.
