EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT made on the..…….

……………………………………………. a company incorporated in the Republic of Zambia and
having its registered offices in Lusaka (hereinafter called “the company”) of the one part and
………………… also of Lusaka (hereinafter called “the employee”) of the other part.

WHEREBY IT IS AGREED that;

The company shall engage the employee under a contract of employment (herein after called the contract)
in the capacity of Driver on the terms and conditions hereunder.

Commencement and duration of the contract

1.1 The contract shall take effect on the ….day of . ……….. to ….. day ……….
1.2 The contract shall run for …… year subject to termination clauses herein.
1.3 The employee shall be on the mandatory probation of 3 months subject to confirmation.
2 Employees entitlements
2.1 The employee shall be entitled to a gross salary of ZMK ………. (Kwacha ……………..
Only) in is inclusive of 30% housing allowance, ZMK180.00 Transport allowance and
ZMK153.00 Lunch allowance.

3 Employees duties and obligations


3.1 The employee shall be employed as an Office cleaner / Office Assistant to render
janitorial services within office spaces. You will be responsible for cleaning the work
spaces, including restrooms; emptying trash bins, cleaning windows, and dusting
furniture, and performing other related duties to promote a tidy environment for all.
a. Responsible for floor care, performing various surface tasks, including vacuuming,
mopping, sweeping, and spot-cleaning carpets of all office areas and non-production
employee lounge
b. Responsible for removing trash in office areas and non-production employee lounge
c. Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms daily.
d. Responsible for cleaning of windows in conference rooms, management offices, etc.
e. Perform dusting, disinfecting, and polishing of surfaces and furniture as needed
f. May be required to shop for cleaning supplies as needed
g. May be required to stock Kitchen and Board Room supplies as needed
h. Responsible for reporting repairs and replacements encountered when executing daily
tasks.
4 Employees benefits and conditions
4.1 The employee shall work from 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs from Monday to Friday with one hour
lunch break from 13:00hrs to 14:00hrs.
4.2 The employee shall work from 08:30hrs to 13:00hrs on Saturdays and shall not report for
work on Sundays and public holidays.
4.3 The employee shall however be required occasionally to carry out office duties outside
normal working hours.
4.4 The employee shall be entitled to an average of 2 days leave per month.
4.5 The employee shall be entitled to 5 compassionate leave days in an event of the death of;
Mother, father, brother, sister, spouse or registered child of the family.
5. TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT

5.1 The employer and the employee shall have a right to terminate the contract provided that one
Month notice in writing is given by either party .

5.1 In the period of probation, both parties can give 24hrs notice to terminate the contract.
5.2 The employee shall be liable to summary dismissal on grounds understated ;
5.3 In an event of being found liable for gross misconduct, negligence or guilty of a criminal
offence.
5.4 If he has breached any of the provisions of the contract.
5.5 If employee absconds from work for 10 continuous days without prior authorization and or
permission from work or without just cause.
5.6 If he contravenes the policies, rules or regulations stipulated by the employer either written or
through practice.
5.7 The employer shall not exercise the right to dismiss under clause 1.3 without affording the
employee a fair hearing and the right to be heard.
5.8 The employee shall upon leaving the service of the employer, be bound forthwith to hand
over any motor vehicle together with keys thereof, and or any equipment, tools or materials
belonging to the employer, of which the employee may have had use.
6 APPLICABLE LAWS

6.1 All the relevant Zambian Labor and Employment laws shall be applicable for all intents and
purposes to this contract.
6.2 In case of a dispute arising between the employer and the employee, either party may refer
such for arbitration provided both parties consent as to the person or organization to be
appointed as the Arbitrator.
