Analysis based on the interview conducted

The life of unorganized sector labourers are worst. They don’t have a secure job
and work with the fear of losing their job at any time. People who belong to low-income groups
and who are uneducated, end up working in these kinds of unorganized sectors where their
work is not respected.
Migrant workers face higher difficulty due to language barriers and sometimes
they are mistreated. They aren’t just working to make a livelihood but they also take care of their
family members education and daily expenses. These workers can't demand a bonus even
though they work very hard because their bargaining power is very less as they do not have any
labour union for themselves and they can be easily replaced. They stay unemployed until they
receive a call from the employer. The lives of people who are working in the construction sector
are taken for granted. The working conditions are not safe and even if people get injured during
the work, the employers don't take responsibility for it. They can't even demand for it, because
they possess a very low bargaining power. They aren’t treated with due respect and dignity.
Having toilets is the most basic requirement in any workspace, but most of these labourers don't
even have access to it. Due to low wage, few of them can’t afford for their son’s/ daughter’s
education expenses and their children is forced into the unorganized sectors to cope up with
daily expenses These labourers who are women, face the problem of 'double burden/ second
shift' i.e., they have to work at home (as unpaid domestic labour) also while working outside for
money. These labourers are not being paid for sick leave and maternity leave. Even though
people who are working in the organized sector get these benefits, the people who are working
in the unorganized sector don't. These people are made to work for long hours but they are not
given any benefits. They are being exploited. But they are put in a situation where they can't quit
the job just for the reason that their work is not valued, because they need that job to fulfill the
basic requirements in life. And this is their weakness and it is used by their employers against
them. The labourers from unorganized sectors are not paid for their transportation. The
transportation cost is paid by the labourers themselves. They aren’t provided with any job-linked
retirement benefits. Though they are provided with leave but they aren’t paid for the day.
It is the responsibility of the employers to provide accommodation, water, toilet and
electricity facilities for the gig workers but whereas, due to high demand for such job
hemployees are more than satisfied with just getting paid for the works done. The unorganized
sector labours are not taken care of and being exploited which is passed on to their children as
they can’t afford for the education and this cycle repeats. Unorganized sector employees must
be protected.
