Angle 1

Hello everyone, we are tuniver education group. Welcome back to the series of
videos of Math
in English for 7 graders.

After reviewing all the interesting things of rational numbers, today we move on a
new chapter
that deal with basic properties or basic relationships between basic concepts in
geometry like
angles or lines. Chapter 2: perpendicular and parallel lines.

there are 3 contents that correspond to 3 lessons in this chapter

1. vertically opposite angle
2. transversal and parallel lines
and the last one is the relative position between lines on a plane.

lesson number 9; pair vertically opposite angles.

So what kind of angles that could be called vertically opposite angles? Let's wacth
this video
then you can understand that concept and its appplication in geometry.

now i consider 2 cutting lines a and b. Since cutting, they form 4 angles that are
marked from 1 to 4
the pair of angles 1 and 3, they are congruent and called vertically opposite
angles.
the same thing happens with the pair of angles 2 and 4 although, visually, they are
on horizontally position.
an explanation is the prefix "vertical" means "vertex of angle" like the vertex O
of the angle xOy below.

Therefore, a pair of vertically opposite angles is made by 2 cutting lines, and

each side of
this angle is the opposite ray of a side of the other angle.
and two vertically opposite angles are always congruent.

Next, we move on a concept that i can be sure that it's so familiar to all of you.

i start with a line, from an arbitrary point on it, i draw a ray. the ray and the
initial line
makes 2 angles, angle 1 anf angle 2.
They are called adjacent supplementary angles.

adjacent angles means they share a common vertex and a common side.

supplementary angles means the some of measures of 2 angles is 180*.

Once, two angles satisfy all two conditions above, they are adjacent supplementary.

Let's see, by using these two kinds of pairs of angle above, what can we do for the
example
right there. We need to find the measure of angle x.

i color purple the two cutting lines and now we can use the propertiy of vertically
opposite angles.

We have x + 70 = 120 with the caption on the right hand side.

thus x is 50 degrees.

you also can figure out the measure of x by pari of adjacent supplentary angles.

after that is the time to pronounciation practice.

thanks for watching.

angle 2:

Hello everyone, we are tuniver education group. Welcome back to the series of

continuing with chapter 2, we come to the 2nd content, lesson 10; parallel lines
cut by a
transversal

picture a railroad track and a road crossing tracks.

So, are the two railroad tracks parallel?
would a train be able to run on a non-parallel tracks?
and is there any geometric theory can we use to prove they are parallel?
