Chicken Out:
= To not do something because you are afraid; be a coward
e.g., We were going for bungee jumping, but at the last moment I chickened out.

2. Duck Out:
= to avoid doing something
e.g. You must do your homework; you can’t just duck out of your responsibilities.

3. Fish for:
= ask for or try to get something in an indirect way
e.g. He was tired of fishing for her compliments, but she wouldn’t budge.

4. Horse around:
= play in a loud or silly way
e.g. Tommy, stop horsing around before you end up breaking something.

5. Monkey around/ Lark around


= to behave playfully or in a mischievous way
e.g. Finishing your homework doesn’t mean that you have to monkey all around the house.

6. Rat on:
= to be disloyal to someone by giving away secret information about them
e.g. He was the head behind this scandal, but eventually, he ratted on us all when
he got caught by the police.

7. Squirrel away:
= to stash or hide something for future use
e.g. As soon as she gets paid, she squirrels away a large chunk of money for her tuition fee.

8. Leech off:
= Use someone for personal gain
e.g. Now that I’ve grown up, I don’t want to leech off my parents anymore.
