Online Application procedure :

 Students who have passed the Higher Secondary examination or its equivalent (10+ 2)
are eligible to apply for admission to the 1 st BA / B.Sc class. The student must have taken
a minimum of 5 subjects of 100 marks each at the HS level.
 The total process for admission to 1st Yr classes is online, through the college website
www.nistarinicollege.ac.in. The following methodology must be followed –

ADMISSION PROCEDURE & NORMS
(To be read carefully by candidate before filling up form)

 Admission will be strictly on the basis of the merit lists published online.
 Admission procedure will be conducted through online process only.
 Students who have passed HS or equivalent examination in 2021, 2020, and 2019 are
eligible for admission into the 1st year class.
 The students will have to wait for the merit lists, which will be published on pre-notified
dates. Students will choose their subjects as given in the admission form.
 Honours subject may be changed only once, as long as online admission process
continues. As soon as classes begin there will be no change from Honours to Honours.
 All students are eligible for the General Course list. Students may take admission to the
Pass course if they wish to wait for an Honours subject of their choice. If any Honours
seat remains vacant after beginning of classes, it will be filled up from the Pass
course students, according to merit.
 All admission fees will be paid online, and students will come to the college only at the
beginning of classes, which will be notified online.
 Reservation quotas as per government rules will be maintained for ST, SC, OBC(A),
OBC(B), and PC candidates. Original copies of all certificates will have to be produced at
the time of verification in the college.
 The applicants will fill up only for BA or B.Sc courses. If any applicant wishes to apply
for both, then two registration forms will have to be filled up separately.
 A General course student in Arts will have to choose two Elective subjects – one Primary
and one normal. Both will be chosen as per available seats.
 A General course student in Science will have to choose Three Elective subjects – one
Primary and two normal. All three will be chosen as per available seats
 Separate lists will be published for BA and B.Sc General course, and separate lists will be
published for each Honours course.
 The merit panel will be prepared on the basis of best four subjects. Marks of Compulsory
ENVS will not be taken into account.
 Any false information whatsoever will lead to the immediate cancellation of candidature,
even if the student has been admitted with full fees. No fees will be refunded in that case.
 Students passing 10+2 Vocational courses are only eligible to take admission to the
degree General Programme course, as per SKBU guidelines.
 Students who wish to opt for Environmental Science, Nutrition, and Computer Science
Honours, must have Science background in the +2 level.
 1st Year Candidates who failed to fill up examination forms for Part I examinations in
2020, will have to apply afresh for admission to the 1st Year class, 2021.
 Only candidates who have passed the 10+2 exams in 2021,2020, and 2019 will be
eligible to apply for admission into the 1st Year BA /B.Sc course.
 Only candidates who have obtained HS or equivalent degree from a recognized
institution will be eligible to apply for admission into 1st semester, BA / B.Sc courses.

Verification of testimonials :

 After online admission is over, verification of testimonials will be done on the date the
college opens for classes of Semester I.
 There will be verification of all original testimonials, including caste certificates.
 Candidates will have to come physically with all documents.
 The following documents will have to be produced at the time of verification :
a. HS or equivalent Marksheet and Certificate.
b. Certificate or admit card of M.P. or equivalent examination.
c. SC / ST / PWD (Person with disability) certificate.
d. School-leaving certificate.
e. A set of attested copies of all the above documents.
f. One copy of Passport-size coloured photo.

 Any false information provided during online counseling will lead to immediate
cancellation of admission, and no refund of any fees will be permitted.

Subject Eligibility :

Candidates, for admission into any Honours course will have to secure at least 45% in the
aggregate in the HS level, along with the following minimum marks in the concerned Honours
subject in the 10+2 level –
1) Geography : 70% in subject.
2) English : 65% in subject.
3) Bengali : 60% in subject.
4) Sanskrit : 60% in subject.
5) History : 55% in subject.
6) Philosophy : 70% in subject.
7) Political Science : 50% in subject.
8) Economics : 45% in aggregate. Mathematics combination in the HS level will be given
preference.
9) Music : 45% in aggregate from any stream.
10) Mathematics : 65% in subject.
11) Physics : 50% in subject, and 60% in aggregate.
12) Chemistry : 65% in subject.
13) Botany : 55% in aggregate, with Biology as combination subject.
14) Nutrition & Environmental Science : 45% in aggregate with Chemistry combination.
15) Zoology : 60% in Biology subject.
16) Education : 45% in aggregate from any stream.
17) Computer Science : 45% in aggregate in the Science stream, having pass in Maths.

For admission in the General course for Arts, the candidate requires a Pass mark in the +2 level.
For admission in the General course for Science, the candidate requires a Pass mark in the +2
level in the Science stream.

CBCS through semesters :


The BA / B.Sc course is a three-year degree course, divided into six semesters. Examinations
will be held after each semester, and semester-wise mark sheets with grade points will be issued
by the university. The total grade points will be given, along with marks, in the final mark sheet.
A BA /B.Sc student can opt for Honours or General course.

BA / B.Sc Honours course :


A student admitted into an Honours course in Arts will have to study the following papers over
six semesters. All papers carry 50 marks each.
1) Core Course (CC) in Honours subject – 14 papers.
2) Discipline Centric Elective (DSE) in Hons subject – 4 papers.
3) Skill Enhancement course (SEC) in Hons subject – 2 papers.
4) Ability Enhancement Compulsory course (AECC) – 2 papers (1 in language, incl
English, and 1 in Environmental Studies).
5) Generic Elective course (GE) – 4 papers (two each from two different subjects)

The semester-wise break-up is as follows –


1) Semester I – CC (Papers I & II), AECC (ENVS), GE (Subject – I)
2) Semester II – CC (Papers III & IV), AECC (Language), GE (Subject – I)
3) Semester III – CC (Papers V, VI, & VII), SEC (Paper I), GE (Subject – II)
4) Semester IV – CC (Papers VIII, IX & X), SEC (Paper II), GE (Subject – II)
5) Semester V – CC (Papers XI, XII), DSE (Papers I & II)
6) Semester VI -- CC (Papers XIII, XIV), DSE (Papers III & IV)
BA General course :
A student admitted into a General course in Arts will have to study the following papers over six
semesters. All papers carry 50 marks each.
1. Discipline Specific Core (DSC) in Two subjects (one of which will be the Primary
subject – 4 + 4 papers.
2. English – 2 papers
3. Modern Indian Language (MIL) – 2 papers
4. Discipline Centric Elective (DSE) in both the above subjects – 2 + 2 papers.
5. Skill Enhancement course (SEC) in the Primary subject – 4 papers.
6. Ability Enhancement Compulsory course (AECC) – 2 papers (1 in language, incl
English, and 1 in Environmental Studies).
7. Generic Elective course (GE) – 2 papers (one each from two different subjects)

B.Sc General Course :


A student admitted into a General course in Science will have to choose three subjects from the
following three groups (one from each), choosing the first as her primary subject –
Group – I : Mathematics, Botany.
Group – II : Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics.
Group – III : Physics, Zoology, Geography.

She will have to study the following papers over six semesters. All papers carry 50 marks each.
1) Discipline Specific Core (DSC) in Three subjects (one of which will be the Primary
subject – 4 + 4 + 4 = 12 papers.
2) Discipline Centric Elective (DSE) -- 2 papers each in the three subjects – 2 + 2 +2 = 6
papers.
3) Skill Enhancement course (SEC) in the Primary subject – 4 papers.
4) Ability Enhancement Compulsory course (AECC) – 2 papers (1 in language, incl
English, and 1 in Environmental Studies).
The semester-wise break-up is as follows –
1) Semester I –DSC (Subj I Paper I; Subj II Paper – I, Sub III Paper I), AECC (Language)
2) Semester II –DSC (Subj I Paper II; Subj II Paper – II, Subj III Paper II), AECC
(ENVS).
3) Semester III –DSC (Subj I Paper III; Subj II Paper – III, Subj III Paper III), SEC (Paper

B.A. Subject combinations for General course students :


Students taking General courses in Arts will choose two Elective subjects from the following
three groups (only one may be chosen from a single group) :
Group I – Bengali, English, Sanskrit, Hindi.
Group II – History, Philosophy, Education, Economics.
Group III – Political Science, Geography, Music, Physical Education.

Subject options for Generic Elective (Hons and Pass courses in Arts) :
Group I (1 subject for Hons in Semester I & II, and one for General in Semester V or VI to be
chosen from this group) – Bengali, Education, Music, Physics, Sanskrit, Philosophy, English,
Chemistry, Botany, Environmental Science.
Group II (1 subject for Hons in Semester III & IV, and one for General in Semester V or VI to
be chosen from this group) – Hindi, Political Science, Physical Education, Computer Science,
Nutrition, History, Geography, Economics, Mathematics, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry.

Important dates for admission :

c) Publication of 1st merit list – 31st August 2021.
d) Admission from 1st merit list – 1st September to 3rd September 2021 (upto 6.00 p.m.).
e) Publication of 2nd merit list – 3rd September 2021, after 6.00 p.m.
f) Admission from 2nd merit list – 4th September to 6th September 2021 (upto 6.00 p.m.)

m) Subjectwise, categorywise, other merit lists may be published if vacant seats exist in the
subjects.
n) Publication of BA / B.Sc General 1st merit list – 15th September 2021, after 6.00 p.m.
o) Admission from BA / B.Sc General 1st merit list – 16th to 19th September (upto 6.00 p.m.)
p) Publication of BA / B.Sc General 2nd merit list – 19th September 2021, after 6.00 p.m.
q) Admission from BA / B.Sc General 2st merit list – 20th to 23rd September (upto 6.00 p.m.)
r) All Candidates who miss admission on specified dates, can opt for admission into Pass
course.
s) At the time of admission candidates will have to upload all credentials, including caste
certificates and PC certificates, MP certificate or admit card, and HS / equivalent exam
marksheets.
t) Beginning of classes and verification of testimonials – Will be notified later.
