I am writing to express my great appreciation for, confidence in, and recommendation of Janel
Sanders. As the Executive Director of the Learning Club of KCK, a 501c3 not-for-profit
organization, I have worked with Janel for about 15 months. This past summer, she has lead
the KCKCC “Kids on Campus” summer camp with which we partnered to serve nearly 150 of
our students with six weeks of excellent hands-on programming. Janel did a fine job organizing
the camp, supervising the staff and students, and making connections in the community to
provide our youth with an enriching, engaging, educational summer camp.

Janel also eagerly created spring break and winter break camp boxes for our students during
the COVID pandemic. She displayed tremendous creativity and organizational skills in
researching and creating the boxes, filled with online and hands-on activities for our Learning
Club students. In addition, Janel served as a mentor to one of our high school interns in the
Spring of 2021. She has also been instrumental in helping us pursue KCKCC college credit for
our high school interns.

In all of our work with Janel, she has clearly demonstrated that she is a champion of children,
especially those most in need of support and help. She has advocated for our kids and for our
program, and has had a tremendous impact on our work. It has been a joy to work in
collaboration with Janel, as she is a leader in her field who is dedicated, a good communicator,
hard-working, and focused. She has definitely gone above and beyond in all the tasks she has
taken on.
