1. What is NSTP?

= Nation Service Training Program.


The National Service Training Program (NSTP), is a civic education and defense preparedness
program students instituted by the Government of the Philippines on 5 January 2000 by virtue of
Republic Act 9163, otherwise known as the "National Service Training Program (NSTP) Act of
2001."

2. What is the purpose of NSTP?

= The NSTP (LAWPHiL, 2002) is a service rendered to one's own country with its aim of
enhancing civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by developing the ethics
of service and patriotism while undergoing training in any of its three (3) program components in
the Philippines.

3. What are the three components of NSTP?

= 1. ROCT - Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC)


2. CWTS - Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS)
3. LTS - Literacy Training Service (LTS)

4. Why do we need to NSTP?

= The purpose of this program is to recognize the Youth's vital role in nation-building, promote
consciousness among youth and develop their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social
well-being. It shall inculcate in the youth patriotism, nationalism, and advance their involvement
in public and civic affairs.

5. What is NSTP 2 all about?

= NSTP 2This Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) II is a sequel to NSTP-CWTS I. it is designed to
immerse/integrate students in activities that will arm them with the capability to contribute in
the upliftment of the general welfare and the quality of life of the community and the
enhancement of its facilities especially those that are devoted o improving the health,
environment, entrepreneurship, safety, recreation and morale of the citizens.

6. What is importance of NSTP?

= The purpose of this program is to recognize the Youth's vital role in nation-building, promote
consciousness among youth and develop their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual and social
well-being. It shall inculcate in the youth patriotism, nationalism, and advance their involvement
in public and civic affairs.

7. What is the main objective of NSTP?

= The primary objective of the NSTP law (R.A. 9163) is to promote the role of the youth in
nation-building. It aims to encourage the youth to become civic and/or military leaders and
volunteers whom could be called upon by the nation in case their services are needed.

8. What is the legal basis of NSTP?

= This program aimed to enhance civic consciousness and defense preparedness in the youth by
developing the ethics of service and patriotism while undergoing training in any of its three (3)
program components specifically designed to enhance the youth active contribution to the
general welfare.

9. Who is covered by NSTP?

= All incoming freshman students, male, female, starting school year (SY) enrolled in any
baccalaureate and in at least two (2) year technical-vocational or associate courses are required
to complete one (1) NSTP component of their choice, as a graduation requirement.

10. As a student, what’s your best way to help the government to fight the pandemic virus?
= As a student my best way to help the government is by following the rules they complement,
by distancing my self to a crowded places, wearing a mask when I go outside the house and
staying in the house when there is not important things to do outside.
