The most important partner of any business are Suppliers, as half of the success lies in choosing
the best and appropriate suppliers whose business objectives and goals are aligned with your own
business. Before selecting the suppliers, the company has to consider number of factors and
answer all those important questions strategically that are related with the supplier selection.

The first question will be about the number of potential suppliers to choose. Company has to
consider this; rather to go with the single supplier or dual sourcing strategies. For finding
potential suppliers, the company has to build up a shortlist of possible suppliers through a
combination of sources to have a broader base to choose from including visiting trade
associations, exhibitions, getting recommendations from friends and business advisors. Then,
choosing the right sourcing strategy aligned with the business objective of air-craft component
manufacturing and building and maintaining the healthy relationship with supplier by treating
them as business partners for the sake of smooth business operations.

The second question arises about suppliers trustworthy and experience. The company has to
make sure the supplier remains loyal with them as protecting their intellectual property rights
because their air-craft components’ design has some unique specifications and features. Hence,
to design such air-craft components they need to receive specific materials from suppliers by
sharing the secret information with them. Therefore, to ensure the protection of intellectual
property rights, company has to draw the Non-disclosure agreement with supplier. Moreover, it
is also necessary that supplier has prior experience and knowledge in supplying the right raw
materials to company.

The third question will be regarding the supplier expertise and relevance to the industry in which
air-craft Company is associated. It is necessary that the supplier has specific expertise which can
help to add value into the Company’ project. Moreover, it offers some value-added services in
relevance to the prior industry likes suggesting some new technological changes in the operation,
providing customer new preferences and helping to improve the other functional areas of the
company including transportation and distribution.

The fourth question regarding supplier selection will be the delivery of quality products at right
time. Quality is the main component to achieve competitive advantage and for the making of
high-quality components of air-craft, the quality products from supplier is a necessary element
which can’t be compromised at all. Moreover, the right time delivery of products from supplier
is an important factor too. To ensure this, the company must has integrated advance information
system for smooth communication with supplier as even hoping from supplier to be advance in
using information system.

The fifth question will be the supplier flexibility and reliability. Due to uncertain changes in
environmental factors, abrupt changes in customer demands, economic uplifts or downfall and
unsure political situation in a country have an impact on the manufacturing companies. In that
situation, the air-craft components manufacturing company need to have flexible supplier who
provides the deliveries according to the situation.

The sixth and the most important question is about the supplier cost strategies. Air-craft
components manufacturing company like to receive the supplies at the fair price and hoping to
get the quantity discounts at the good prices. Plus, considering this; does supplier’s cost match
up with the company’s budget or not? If supplier product quality won’t match with the high cost.
Then the company will not be considering it for selection as company has to operate by
remaining within the budget.

If the existing procurement strategy isn’t that much profitable and needs to change from sole to
dual or cross filling sourcing strategies, requires us to perform the strategic analysis and
evaluation of the existing and new procurement strategy. For the existing sourcing, we need to
identify the problematic areas as for many years we were using it but due to some environmental
issues and high demand of customers, this strategy seemed unfit. There might be other issues
related to supplier’s including their unreliability, inflexibility, unfair prices, less adapted to
technological changes, providing low quality products, facing financial issues, involved in some
illegal activities and most importantly their goals are not long enough matching with our
business. As our business evolves with the new changes in the world and adapted them perfectly
and for that having efficient supply sourcing strategy is the key element. For finding potential

possible sources, first we would search on internet as due to globalization and advancement in
technology, help us to find appropriate suppliers offering number of services at reasonable
prices. Additionally, the recommendations from friends and business acquaintances will give us
an honest assessment of a suppliers’ strengths and weaknesses as someone might has used its
services. Furthermore, visiting the trade associations and be the part of huge exhibitions held at
Expo Centres will provide a great opportunity to talk with a number of potential suppliers in the
same place. In addition to that, getting support from business advisors help us to find the right
number of vendors and reading the trade magazines and newspapers which features
advertisements from potential suppliers help us to get the chance to contact the right suppliers
related to the industry and knowing about their prior experience. The supplier’s selection for new
sourcing strategy require us to consider some important factors to have the best possible right
combinations of suppliers who offer us high-quality tyres with guarantees at reasonable prices by
fulfilling the order at right time along with providing other value-added services. They need to be
flexible, reliable and trustworthy and financially strong to back us in unforeseen situations. Plus,
we won’t be buying from multiple suppliers as managing them will be difficult, therefore dual
sourcing will be suitable as it is always worth having an alternative supply source ready to help
in difficult times. Conclusively, to switch from single sourcing to dual sourcing is our business
requirement, for tender selection and sources of potential suppliers we will be following all those
points strictly which we mentioned above as we strongly believe that having the right
combination of suppliers is the most important part of the business which requires proper
attention by working strategically with the situation.

A market analysis is a quantitative and qualitative assessment of a market. It looks into the size
of the market both in volume and in value, the various customer segments and buying patterns,
the competition, and the economic environment in terms of barriers to entry and regulation.

Giving constructive criticism can be easier said than done - it's something that many people find
challenging, and can be tricky to do well. Having a baseline of trust will help set the tone of your
future conversations, and will both help you deliver your feedback, and help them accept it and
put your suggestions to use. It's very difficult to accept feedback or criticism from someone you

do not trust to have your best interests at heart - you want the receiver to truly know that, first
and foremost, you recognize their abilities, believe in their potential, and appreciate their work.
This means they'll be more likely to view your feedback as constructive, and will further open
communication channels to make this kind of exchange even easier and more productive in the
future. it's important to make sure you're presenting a balanced perspective, whether your
feedback is ultimately positive or negative. One of the best ways to give constructive feedback is
to focus on specifics. Telling someone that their work needs improvement, but not giving details
on what exactly is lacking or how it might be fixed, isn't helpful to anyone - the individual won't
know what you're looking for, so they'll be frustrated and you most likely will not get the results
you hoped for. Again, bringing in both positives and negatives can be key here. Obviously,
frequency will vary depending on how much interaction you have with the individual you are
giving constructive criticism to, but making feedback a regular part of your conversations and
meetings will go a long way.
