Further Info. About Parliament:
The National Assembly consists of 342 members. The Constitution does not empower the
president to dissolve the National assembly. The Senate is not subject to dissolution. Only the
Parliament can amend the Constitution, by two third majority vote separately in each house.
Each of the four Provinces are represented by 23 Senators regardless of population Election are
held every three years for one half of the Senate and each senator has a term of Six years. While
the Islamabad Capital territory is represented by four Senators.
A political party must secure 137 seats to obtain and preserve a majority.
Member of National Assembly are elected through the FPTP (First-past-the-post) means An
electoral system , Voters can cast their vote for a candidate who receives the most vote wins
