PRE – ASSESMENT
Answer the following in your own perspective:

1. Define an engineer.
Ans. An engineer is a person who is skilled and trained in any branch of the
engineering profession, who designs and build things like machines, system, and
structures that help solve a specific problem.

2. Describe the qualities of a manager.

Ans. A manager should have certain characteristics or essential qualities for leading
a peaceful life. Here is my list of qualities of a good manager.
A manager must be a great communicator, which involves keeping in touch
with everyone on their team regularly, providing frequent feedback, and
acknowledging outstanding performance, if a manager does not have good
communication skills then it will lead to misunderstanding to the team.
A manager must be reliable and consistent, employees should feel at ease
approaching you if they are having difficulties, like perspective on their work that
requires assistance and suggestions from you. They must know that you can handle
things and ensure them that you are capable to assist and guide them.
A manager must be good at decision making, you must capable of making
difficult decisions on problems, you need to decide on the best interest of your team.
A manager must be transparent, your team wants the truth, and an effective
manager knows how to be honest and straightforward. They want to know
everything, they want straightforward and honest feedback and a manager won’t
favor trying to mask the truth and obscuring harsh facts.
Lastly, a manager must be goal-oriented, you must be driven by purpose, clear
vision, and focused on reaching or accomplishing a task, getting them done efficiently.

For a better organization, a good leader is needed, without a good and efficient
manager, the institution cannot reach its objectives.
