The article by James Parrish and Bennet Hammer explains how culture has an impact on the

success of various social networking sites. The goal of this study is to establish a set of
theoretical hypotheses based on aspects of the Hofstede cultural dimension scale to help explain
why different Social Networking sites (SNS) are popular in different nations throughout the
world. The objective of scrutinizing the paper is to contribute in enhancing the presented
theoretical framework by identifying portions of the article that needs to be examined and altered
as well as enhancing the argument presented in paper by adding pertinent inputs that would help
ensure that the information provided is credible and accurate.

Individuals can use social networking sites(SNS) to create a profile, interact with other people
with similar interests and hobbies, and browse and explore their list of connections in the
network. SNS users have different backgrounds, living in different living standards, and have
different cultural backgrounds, However, According to Parrish & Hammer claims that these
differences have their corresponding effect on the user's comfort level in using one social
networking site versus another. In this paper, the theoretical framework used in the study
demonstrates how popular social networking sites possess low or high values for each cultural
dimension. This helps us understand why there are differences in the popularity of social media
in different places.

The discussion focused on Facebook, the most popular social networking site, given that the
authors explained the important points about it and how relevant its features are. Focusing on
Facebook was not evident in the theoretical framework. However, the discussion lost sight of
what should have been discussed such as focusing on the theoretical framework. It is
recommended to include discussion on different cultural dimensions in Facebook will help
improve the relations and interpretations produced from the data.

The paper was able to adequately give and elucidate how social networking sites vary with
respect to differences in high or low values in cultural dimensions mentioned in the SNS
elements. There were also examples presented in order to substantiate the analysis. All the
cultural dimensions were explained and elaborated in detail as well as the theoretical
framework. There were sufficient exposition in high and low cultural dimensions values yet its
implications were not explicitly specified and no links were presented too.

In conclusion, The researchers were able to make important statements that were substantiated
by relevant literature and other evidence. By providing appropriate correlations and insights, the
theoretical framework can be enhanced. There were significant areas that were stated in the
discussion. Moreover, cultural dimensions greatly affect the comfort level of SNS users that most
likely affects the popularity of a certain SNS presented in the discussion. There were minor flaws
in the grammatical aspect of the paper. The paper delivered relevant information. However, the
author must be receptive to improvements regarding the paper.
