JIS B 0002 (9) Drawing Office Practice for Screw Threads Industrial Standard provides the methods of representation on drawings of screw threads and threaded fastners and the expression on drawing of screw threads. The aatters other than those not specified tn chis standard shall comply with JTS 8 0001. 2. Methods of Representation of Screw Threads and Threaded Fasteners 2,1 Screw threads shall be shown by the simplified drawings as shown in Figure, as a rule. The root of incomplete thread portions shall be shown by oblique straight Line, and the Length of incomplete-chread portion shall be put 1£ necessary. In the simplified drawings of screw threads, the lines showing the roots and incomplete thread portions shall be fine full Lines (broken lines of intermediate thickness, for Lovisible parts) aa shown in Figure and the line showing the divisions between che complete-and incomplete-thread portions shall be thick full Lines (broken lines of intermediate thickness, for invisible parts). However, in the especially simplified drawings as 3.1 (b), 3.2 (b) ‘and 3.3 (b) of Attached Fig. 3, Attached Fig. 4, Attached Fig. 5 and Attached Fig, 7 (b), incomplete thread portion shall be neglected, irrespective of the provisions of 2.1. 3. Expression of Screw Threads 3.1 The expression of a screw thread shall be composed, as given below, of the designation and grade of screw thread, and the hand and number of thread and shall be put above the horizontal line attached to the leader Line indicating the line showing the crest of external thread or root of internal thread by the methods specified under 3. of JIS B 0123. However, the hand of thread shall be omitted for right-hand thread and the number of thread for single thread. Also the grade of screw thread may be omitted, when it ts unnecessary. ‘The expression of metric trapezoidal screw thread shall be as given in 4. Hand of thread Number of thread Designation of screw thread Grade of screw thr 3.2. When the surface roughness of screw thread is to be expressed, it shell be put at the end of the expression for the screw thread with the indication mark for the surface or the mark for surface Finish specified in SIS B 0031 (see 8.1 and 8.2 of Attached Fig. 8). 3.3 When the lead of multiple thread is to be expressed, it shall be put after the designation of screw thread inserted between round brackets. However, this rule does not apply to metric trapezoidal screw thread. Example: Double TM 32 (lead: 12) (see 8.3 of Attached Pig. 8) 3.4 When it 1a necessary to clarify that the expression {s concerned with rey thread, the vord "screw thread" shall be added behind the grade of screw thread (see Attached Fig. 9). 3.5. The thread length of interne} screw thread and the hole size and depth before threading, if they are to be expressed, shall be as exaupled in Attached Fig. 10. 3.6 The grades of externe} and internal screw threads simultaneously at 2 engaging part of screw threads, if required co be expressed, shall be as exampled in Attached Fig. 11. 3,7 When it 1s necessary to express the position of basic diameter of taper pipe thread, the designation of the basic diameter shell be put in ite position (see Attached Fig. 12). 3.8 For the combination of internal parallel pipe thread and external teper pipe thread, the particulars of the internal and external threada shell be put above the horizontal line attached to the end of the leader line in thet order, (see Attached Fig. 13). 16 — =B 0002— | 4, Expression of Metric Trapezoldal Threads For expressing a netrte trapezoidal thread, che symbol representing the type of screw thread, nominal diameter of acrew thread, Lead, pitch, hand of thread, and grade of screw thread shall be put ahove the horizontal Line attached to the end ef the Leader Line Indicating the crest of the external thread or root of internal thread by the method specified in 4 of JIS B 0123.
