Multi-word verbs
A Underline the two possible ways to end each sentence. Which ending is NOT possible?
e.g. He plans to carry on working / leaving / studying.
B Read the questions and decide what the situation is. Then write a reply.
e.g. A Why do you want to carry on? B Because I need the qualifications.
C Work in pairs. Read your B replies in a different order. Can your partner guess the correct questions?
D Work in pairs. Practise the exchanges. Student A: ask the questions. Student B: give your replies.
Then swap roles.
