NR8120D CONFIGURATION

LAPTOP SETTING BEFORE START OF COMMISSIONING


Select – Obtain an IP address automatically
START OF COMMISSIONING
LOGIN WEB LMT
1- Use a LAN cable (either straight through or crossover) to connect the LMT port of NR8120D and PC

2- Open the Internet explorer/Google Chrome and enter IP address 192.168.1.16

After this, below window will appear:-


3- Enter User Name and Password.
User Name: admin
Password: admin

After click login, below window will appear.


4- Setup System Parameter

After this, below window will appear

Fill detail for all yellow color boxes and click apply.

Device IP, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway and Network Management VLAN ID, – use DCN IP address and Management VLAN
provided by Microwave Engineer.

Note: Please don’t use BTS/Node B IP addresses and VLAN. In all attached snapshot, IP mentioned are just for reference
purpose only
Below attached screen is the reference how to mention Site ID(xxx001) and NE Name ( xxx001-
xxx002). NE Name should start first with Site ID of site which you are configuring and XXX002
should be other End of this site.

5- Setup System Time

After this, below window will appear:-

Select: - System Time Zone.


System Time: Select present date and Time.

SNTP Clock Sync Service: Enable.

Server IP Address: Provided by Microwave Engineer.

Server IP Address SNTP IP Address – Server 1

Server IP Address SNTP IP Address – Server 2

6- Security SNMP

Below window will appear.

Click Add, new window will appear as below

Name: EMSSERVER1
IP Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (use IP address provided by Microwave Engineer)

Status: Enable.

After Click apply, below window will appear.

Repeat the same to add EMS server 2 IP address.

Name: EMSSERVER2

IP Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (use IP address provided by Microwave Engineer).


Status: Enable.

After this, turn Switch ON and click Apply.


After click Apply, below window will appear.

7- Radio Link Basic Configuration.

Below window will appear. In this window, define Bandwidth, Modulation, Power and Frequency.

a> In Transmission unit Name, under drop down, two Unit will show,

TN5-1- Unnamed and TN6-1-Unnamed indicated two Modems. (TN5-1 will be used, so there is no need to change it).
Name: SITEA-SITEB (Use Site A ID and Site B ID). { First end(SITEA) should be Site ID of this site which you are configuring}

Link Description: Use Site Name of near and far end

After click Apply, below window will appear.

Below Attached screen is the reference .

b> Modulation and Link bandwidth setting.


Select Bandwidth and Modulation as per Link budgeting from drop down box.
Below screen is the example of Link bandwidth 28MHz and Modulation 32QAM.

c> RF Parameter configuration.


Configure Tx Frequency, T/R spacing and Tx power. ( T/R spacing for all 15GHz links will be 420MHz

Ethernet or VLAN configuration.

1- First need to enable Ethernet port which we want to configure.

Below window will appear,

a> Select Port which you want to configure by clicking on that part, after clicking, it will highlight as shown below for NMS port :-

After this, Click Modify, below window will appear:-


Change Status – Enable.
Duplex Mode – Full – Duplex.
Auto Negotiation Status – Enable.
Speed – 1000(or as per Port requirement).
Port Description – Give port description as per usage.
After clicking Apply, below window will appear. It shows that NMS port is enabled with Port Description – NMS.

Below example shows how to enable another port – GbE1 (procedure is same as we enable NMS port in above scenario).
Select Port by selecting it and after this, it will highlight as shown below.
After this, Click Modify, below window will appear:-
Change Status – Enable.
Duplex Mode – Full – Duplex.
Auto Negotiation Status – Enable.
Speed – 1000(or as per Port requirement).
Port Description – Give port description as per usage.

Similarly, we can enable other ports as per requirement. Below screen depicts that GbE1, GbE2 and NMS port are enabled.
After enabling the ports, you can check the status of ports when LAN/Patch Code will be inserted into these ports from Port
Status.

Below screen shows that GbE1 and GbE2 are in use.

NOW CONFIGURE VLAN

Below window will appear.


Select Enable Port by clicking on it, it will highlight as shown below.

Then Click Modify, below window will appear.

Change Port Type from Access to Trunk and click Apply.


After click Apply, below window will appear.

Then configure VLANs in the VLAN ID and click Add.


After clicking Add, below window will appear, which shows that all VLANs are
configured in the port.

All VLANs which are configured on different ports should be added on AIR-5-
1 or AIR-6-1 port (depending on which modem card is used) in the same
manner.
Below example shows that VLANs are configured at GbE5/10GbE, AIR-5-1
and at GbE2.
For Login to Far end , Change the port from LMT to NMS and set IP address in
your laptop of same gateway(Free IP of same pool).

Then open browser and put Far end IP and login into it.
