INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES WHO HAVE BEEN PLACED ON THE

WAITING LIST

Placement of a candidate on the waiting list is not a guarantee

for admission
Dear Candidate,
Congratulations! With reference to your application for admission to First Degree Program at BITS
Pilani, we are happy to inform you that you have been placed on the waiting list for admission to
the integrated first degree programmes as per the preferences given in your application form for
the Academic year 2021-2022. Please go through following instructions to proceed further.

1. You have been placed on the waiting list for admission to the integrated first degree
programmes as per preferences given in your application form.

2. As you may be aware, among all the candidates to whom firm offers of admission are made,
some do not pay fees or report for admission. Hence a certain number of candidates are kept
on the waiting list and considered for admission in place of those candidates to whom firm
offers are made but do not accept the same. As candidates in the admission forms give
preferences to the programmes of their choice out of a number of given programmes, as a
matrix, it is not possible to predict the exact chance of admission for the candidates on the
waiting list. Since admissions to different programmes are made through a combined process,
it is not possible to assign waiting list numbers to each of the candidate since the waitlist
position will vary for different programmes depending on the way in which candidates have
given their preferences. However, you are advised to check the following website, which will
give latest information on the cut-off scores for admission, which may help you in making some
estimate on your chances. https://www.bitsadmission.com
