Some description about the place, significance: 
Ramnagar was built as a capital of Gond Kingdom in the late 17th century. It is
constructed in a loop of the Narmada River so that the river forms its defence from three
sides. This place has many mysterious folklores linked to Gond kings. Ramnagar has
palaces of king, queen, minister and defence personnel. Ramnagar is on the way to Kanha
national Park.
In periphery there is a mountain of Blackstone (kala Pahad) where stones are in
shape of defined geometric cross sections columns. Peripheral village Chaugan is famous
for its Navratri and Jaware Visarjan celebration and has important religious significance in
Gond culture. A huge dam on Matiyari river on border of cluster provides a perfect place
for camping and star gazing.
On the way to Sarai gate of Kanha there is a very unique colony of hundreds of rock
python named Ajgar Dadar. District headquarter Mandla has museum, Ghats, Temples and
many Scenic places.

convention of 2000 experts on Panchayati Raj system and launched Rashtriya Gramin Swaraj
Abhiyan, more than 2500 students performed Karma (traditional folk dance) and recorded
this event in Guinness book of world record
February 15 2020 Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu addressed the inaugural function

Branding of Chaugan as tourist village

 In early 2000s MP tourism branded Chaugan as tourist village and branded its Navratri and its
Jaware Visarjan procession which can be imagined as a 4 km long green carpet over devotees
head.
